DESCRIPTION
Every night at 10, Dong-Gyun locks himself up in his room, grabs a box of tissues, and watches a live cam boy show hosted by Alex, a BJ (broadcast jockey). Timid Dong-Gyun admires not only Alex’s ripped body, but his candor in sharing his sexual experiences with viewers. One night, Dong-Gyun downs too many drinks at a school networking event and passes out. When he wakes up, he’s in bed staring up at a shirtless hunk. A hunk who looks an awful lot like... Alex.

35/100BJ Alex and Me, A Tumultuous TaleContinue on AniListWhew chile.
Okay. So. I've never written a review on this site and I also have no idea how this site really works in general so please be merciful. I just need to rant a little. I'm dying inside.
Also things get a lil saucy here so. Ahaha. ;)
Now then.
The bodies were hot, outward appendages that shrink and grow touched a'plenty, and almost everyone of importance was attractive as heck.
But.
:(
So we have Jiwon who's a fine as hell cam boy with a mean streak a mile wide (and sadness in his heart) and we have Dong-Gyun, his #1 fan who is v soft, v sweet, trying his best, and is lowkey unhealthily obsessed with this man if we're being honest, lmao.
Here's what I liked. Everyone was hot. Some of the love scenes were ;))))))) as hell. Side characters were nice. LGBTQ+ issues were touched upon and explored pretty decently and in a way that wasn't all trauma, but also finely layered with support and often heartwarming.
What did I dislike????? Wellllll....
The respect between these supposedly consenting parties was nonexistent for the BULK of the story. Deadass. 3/4ths of the way in I was like damn, can he be GENTLE????????? Apparently not!
And well. None of it was justified in my opinion! It just wasn't!
Naturally at some point we get backstory on why the bad boy is the bad boy but getting hurt in the past is not a reason to treat your sexual partner like ass. It just isn't. The first time they have sex he just shoves it in, no lube???? Hell tf no! And it was DG's first time. That was a level of cruelty I did not expect, especially from someone as seasoned as JW. I had to take a walk. It was agreed that we'd sleep together. Not that you'd treat me like garbage.
Now, I understand why Jiwon was annoyed and uncomfortable with how their relationship started out. Dong-gyun was a little ridiculous in how he starstruck he was, clinging to him and asking for this and that when it was clear Jiwon was not with it. Boundaries, dude. I myself damn near wilted under the second-hand embarrassment that was DG gazing at JW all lovey-dovey while JW looked at him like the embodiment of human waste. There was also the bafflement of watching the two of them interact and catch feelings heavy when it was clear they both had issues to work out and knew next to nothing about each other and still cried about it and what not butttttt let me move on from that let me not let me ignore I refuse I refuse I will not write a dissertation on this I won't I won't I-
I just struggled so much with how DG was used and abused, and how DG was treated whenever JW struggled with the jealousy he didn't realize he had, or wanted to punish DG for speaking to people he didn't like and just...at some point being in love is not enough and it was nice when DG was like, "actually, let's not do this".
Shoutout to actual angel Chanwoo for being the only character here with a lick of sense because I was just about ready to jump in this myself and start beatin' somebody ass.
It'd be nice if this were longer, and we delved deeper into some stuff and got more love scenes where they actually cared for each other instead of how one sided it was for so long. I think what happened to me specifically here was....this was hyped up so much for me. I couldn't look left or right without this being recommended and raved about and when i finally got here, I was taken aback and lowkey horrified at the characters I was told were soft and sweet and amazing and caring and loving being actual assholes for nearly the entirety of the plot, and at how the love scenes were so toxic and not at all like people advertised it for me. The sex didn't make up for it. Characters being attractive didn't make up for it. Them making up 15 chapters or so before the end didn't make up for it. Ugh. They would've been so hot otherwise.
ALSO LMAO AT THAT PEE I AM...............CRUMBLING TO DUST.
I'm a little sad. Why am I feeling so emo over this? Is this who I am? Is this who I've become?
:/
DG took it like a champ tho.

30/100Rape, rape, abuse, pause, happy relationshipsContinue on AniList__How to write another yaoi using rape as a plot devise __ I'm still wondering why this manga is popular. It's 2021 and rapey mangas like Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, Junjou R, Love Stage, Super lovers, etc. are losing in rank and young fujoshi don't like them. And then we have this manhwa with a very high rating. And I'm waiting for angry fujoshi who will kill me.
But here we go.
So, BJ Alex is a manhwa about a fan who meets his internet crush. And they start having a relationship. What do I need to tell you about this? Abusive and toxic as hell.
I give an example. Twice for this manga, Alex doubled penetrated Dg by force, although he asked him to stop, Alex did it out of jealousy. Because MD, for example, talked to MD. In addition, he was aggressive and jealous. Or he manipulated them like he was drunk and wanted sex.
We also have a story and flashbacks here to explain their behavior. And no, the manhwa does not justify Alex's behavior.
It's not bad, but it's actually a cliche. Sad story. Alex was used by some high school guy who said he loved him but didn't really. He reminds me of a kitchen boxer who beats his wife with a rolling pin and pounds his daughter and son with a frying pan because a girl beat him up in kindergarten and now he hates the world.Who is Alex? I will say for those who, apparently, have just learned the letters, but cannot read with understanding. Abuser, aggressor, jealous, and manipulator, compulsive crap with low self-esteem, and cartoonist psychopath. That's all I can say about him. . Dg has the personality of cabbage. Because even the cabbage cob has more personality than he does. No self-respect (without blaming the victim, of course), Disney princess naiveté, and that it. He is nondescript as a character, but signs that Alex practically raped him, emotional abuse, and aggression are signs that he likes him.
The most interesting part, of course, is the development of Alex's character. His character development is as if Jeffrey Dahmer woke up surely and instead of killing another boy, he went to work in a happy shelter.
A man who has long been a caricature of Christian Grey with aggressive behavior FOR WEEK, WEEK. After that, he realized that he had acted badly and that he liked his vic ... partner of course. Therefore, he decides to make peace with him, and then they tend to have very exemplary relationships. This is so unrealistic that I have no words. Even to repair some complexes related to
years of psychotherapy may pass by behavior or, for example, by perceiving oneself. And people like Alex can of course change, but only through years of self-development and psychotherapy. In addition, what is the chance that after he has "changed" he won't hurt his partner anymore? He changed after DG stopped putting up with his behavior and left him. I thought great, it must be something good. Oh, of course not. Alex became an exemplary lover and DG fell in love with him again. Because the caricature of Stockholm Syndrome works wonders. There is also a couple of BDSM practitioners here. If I were a person who is interested in BDSM, I would have shot myself or announced my bible 50 Shades of Grey, just to have zero in common with these characters. BDSM is presented in violation of all its possible rules. BDSM is all about having a deep responsibility for your partner's safety, not acting with them like they're like a rag of meat.
Story? Garbage. Character development? Neuter. Or unrealistic. Do I recommend reading this? No. There are funny moments and good, very good art. 0.5 for humor and 1.5 for the art style. For everything else, zero. Best regards and have a nice day. :(

70/100The Crusader Defending Our Right to Contentious Depictions of Sexual Conduct !!Continue on AniList[2nd complete read]
“BJ Alex” holds powers of structure, presentation and attraction. Scenes and scenarios feels lively. It never gets overly bogged down in the drab and dreary. It feeds you just enough character transformation, smut and pander to keep you reading. It works, it’s enjoyable, but I’m tired.
The confluence of story beats that keep this body functioning could not be more rote. Development in far too many manhwa is conditional on the presence of the viewer i.e. Dong-Gyun still being stiff as a board upon meeting one of his old friends, previously disgusted at his homosexuality. Surely there are more directions this sort of meeting and resolution can be tackled from? His reactions plays into the character we have seen in the story so far, but it doesn’t speak true to the reality that even just a handful of years can be impactful in the way in which one considers and reacts to their “trauma”.
My mind immediately goes to the best in this and tangentially related genres I’ve read. “Cheese in the Trap” does the psychological off kilter perfect boy much better than “BJ Alex”. Yoo Jung is manipulative and vindictive, and those elements don’t necessarily change through out the run of the story, but he does develop and recognise that people don’t view that aspect of himself positively. Alex on the other hand shifts so wildly from hard to soft boy that it just seems arbitrary if you don’t buy into the preconditions for his “growth”/”change”.
Dong-Gyun is obviously a pillowy soft boy, but I’ve read a commenter praising his ability to be confrontational when required. However, he generally leaves me wanting. Not necessarily because he doesn’t seem like a character with some dimension, but because he isn’t viewed as needing “fixed” in the same way Alex is. This is understandable to an extent. Alex is a right royal cock and gets abusive for no good reason at points in the story. But personally I have always detested a lack of recognition in the negatives associated with being overly nice and easy going. Personalities have positives and negatives. This simply adds to me finding Alex’s personality shift jarring. A soft boy made hard through the trauma of a previous relationship. A bit boring. A bit unbelievable.
“All About Lust” is an example of a smutty yaoi manhwa that builds concrete, interesting identities for it’s characters, while also veto’ing the requirement for them to be damaged by their homosexual identity. The characters hobbies and interests even factor into the start and development of the relationship! This is completely foreign to “BJ Alex”. After all, what do the main pairing seem to care about apart from each other? What are their hobbies? How do they spent their time outside of each other? You can extract some information, but not enough from the total run of “BJ Alex”.
Ultimately I understand that these stories are created for straight girls, by straight girls. They are also created by Koreans (manhwa duh), which is a cultural atmosphere that I have no knowledge of as a born and bred Briton! But as a G A Y M A N I am highly fatigued by the picture stories like this draw of the le gay experience. I am not normal by any means, not even when compared against the average homosexual, but coming out is something that one moves past relatively quickly once it originally happens. I have lots of good heterosexual male and female friends, and the quirks of our relationship are a myriad more interesting than anything I’ve ever seen presented in a manhwa. I just find my own experience poorly reflected on and done little justice when it is spelled out by these authors.
In conclusion, I enjoyed “BJ Alex”. All prior compliments hold, and the sex scenes are really good. But as my time is increasingly sucked into the blackhole of full time work, I am becoming even more of a stickler for “MORE”. I really enjoy romance and yaoi manhwa, but I want MORE. “BJ Alex” is physically invigorating, but not spiritually or intellectually.
