One of the most visually disgusting manga I've ever read.
Where do I even start? How do I even begin? What?

To be honest, I’m writing this review directly following finishing this manga which is always just… a really bad idea, but I can’t even process what I just experienced in my head so I have to do it in review form.

Before we even get started, I just need to warn you that this is honestly probably one of the most visually disgusting manga I’ve ever read. I could show you endless examples of of how fucking gross this manga can be in image form but honestly, it’s a miracle to make it two pages without nudity. So including images for this review is going to be kind of a challenge as a lot of them might be just gigantic colored boxes with the word "CENSORED" plastered over them.

it's a mad, mad world.......chimera

Mad Chimera World is a horror manga by Seishi Kishimoto about a world where everyone and everything are weird and horrible hybrids between humanity and various animals and insects. Males are mere prey to be hunted by females. If caught, males are typically raped, brutally killed, and then often they are eaten.

I'm going to come right out of the gate and say that I'm 99% sure that this series also had the misfortune of getting axed. Because if the ending is actually what the author had planned out from the beginning, I would like for him to please apologize to Charles Darwin.

~!While I do really think there's a shortage of like endings where "the bad guy wins", I kind of have issue with the fact that the one who ends up winning the race to essentially graft all the characteristics and genes of their species onto all the others is... is a literal parasite. It's a hairworm with a face that takes possession of its hosts by going up their ass.

~~I am in no way joking or exaggerating. Unfortunately.~~

And it's the main antagonist of the series, and it wins, and then everybody on the planet becomes hairworms. Except not really, just their hair does. What the fuck. HE'S A PARASITE. ALL HE'S DONE THE ENTIRE SERIES IS GO UP THE ASSES OF THE OTHER SPECIES AND CONTROLS THEM. TAKE THAT SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST! THE HAIR WORM IS ACTUALLY THE STRONGEST ORGANISM ON THE PLANET.!~

...I still really just don't know what the fuck to say. I mean there's a plot, sure, but how could anybody pay even the slightest amount of attention to it when you're being bombarded with images of like... when the brother and sister (they're our main characters) was fighting the preying mantis and then midfight she just accidentally started laying her eggs. That was pretty cool. Or like the giant female babies chomping on headless corpses. Or like when they needed to go up, they let one of the female bird monsters swallow them and we got to see them just hanging around in its stomach.

And also does literally everything need to have breasts?

Two? How about six? How about insects? How about giant desert anglerfish (???)? How about literally the trees? There is such a thing as too much and if it's not breasts, then it's phalluses, and hairworms coming out of asses and like oh my god C O U L D Y O U P L E A S E S T O P ?

Hey, how about a giant robot man with a giant phallus? And the entire problem that the hero's party has to deal with to defeat the giant robot man is that their only able fighter at the time is a young crab girl who can't fight because she's rightfully covering her eyes because there's an insane giant robot man thrusting his giant metallic phallus violently into a pillar in front of her.

The only thing of any worth in this series that didn't make me feel nauseous to look at was the armadillo.

And also I think he was like the sole victim when the horsehair apocalypse happened. Or the author just didn't feel like drawing him at the end.

Conclusion...?

I want to say I despise this. That I hate it with all of my being because of how disgusting it was from beginning to end. Because I've always been of the opinion that weirdness or grossness cannot stand by itself. There's got to be something else there. And the plot that is there is just a whole lot of "what" and then the sister or the brother's group are just battling more monsters.

But I don't think I've experienced a manga that was just this far... like there is absolutely no restraint or boundaries. Like no shit it got axed (?), how in the hell was it allowed to go as long as it did??? This guy literally probably asked the editor

"yo how many breasts can I include"

and they just fired back

"iunno you're the one drawing the manga dude go nuts"

It's insane. This is just pure insanity in manga form and I can honestly say I almost respect it. Would I recommend it though? Absolutely not. If you like gratuitous nudity plus gore and ~~also worms~~ then sure I guess this series is for you. It definitely isn't for me.
