90/100A perfect adaption to this point, and undeniable the best season of Attack on Titan to date.Continue on AniListEvery new season of Attack on Titan grows in many areas in an extraordinary way. The first one putting in more simplistic terms was simple and straightforward. Wall Maria was broken down by the Colossal titan, and the city swarmed by all kinds of weird and bizarre-looking ones of his kind. Come to find out, the main character, Eren, had the power to turn into one of these horrifying looking monsters. Then from there on, it's easy to assume everything that could've transpired — eventually followed by the season after when all these new elements started to pop out — for instance, learning about the titan's real identity that broke down the wall. Not to mention, all the signs at something bigger happenings in the shadow but still no good idea what it might be. This was also a time for characterization, as we see them more thoroughly developed and can now feel more tightly connected to them.
Then you have the season 3 where Attack on Titan grows to a whole new height. You get to see deeper into the political aspect, and the titans are on the backburner for a while. We finally find out how they came to be, and the puzzle pieces are finally starting to fit in slowly. There was also light-world building to make sure the experience was even more fulfilling and satisfying. During the next part, the biggest questions of them all are finally answered. Titans history, among others, is revealed, and the mystery surrounding them. Although we still have quite a lot left to be exposed, so the theorists and predictions are, therefore, again running wild, trying to crack the code and form a solution to what we still don't know at the moment.
As always, from the startup till now, Wit Studio delivers yet again. It's clear by how much passion and love is put into every scene. When it's supposed to be invoking emotions, if the situation is right, you can feel everything from sorrow, anger, excitement, confusion, and varieties others kind of feelings. Moreover, art is hugely detailed like you would expect from previous seasons, and it meshes well with the different moods and vibes of the current view or position. Animation, too, is insanely fluid and crisp, and there was not a single moment I taught it was feeling off. We had some small glimpses of not the best CGI, but it didn't make a dent in entertainment value and was quite easy to overlook.
Being a manga reader myself, I can also safely assure you the "pacing" was impeccable and barely anything or, if at all, was skipped. On the other, in comparison to the "Uprising arc" from part one of the season, which was condensed somewhat, but if you were to ask me, this was a sound decision. It was profoundly political centered, and if it continued to be just that the audience, specifically a portion of the "anime onlies" or possibly even manga readers might've liked it less. Of course, thankfully, I was not one of them, and it was many that we're able to appreciate it's grace too. Like any other season, we also had Hiroyuki Sawano delivers once again in the original soundtrack department with his undeniable impeccable and masterpiece of composition. The voice acting was merely outstanding, too, and I find myself just like any other season. Turning the volume full up during the intense conversation, packing lots of impacts to have an even more chilling and exciting experience which never has failed me.
Attack on Titan is no doubt something I would with confidence consider a "perfect adaption" up to this point. It's one of the best the anime industry has to offer, and anyone would have a hard time denying it as a fact with the Final season thankfully set to be released during Fall 2020. The expectations are considerably high, as you might've expected. If the studio or hopefully Wit continues to deliver justice as it has been during all these years. You can bet it will be another unforgettable mindblowing, and thrilling experience. Suffice to say my anime of Spring season 2019 and possibly the entire year is already decided.

__This Review Contains Major Spoilers for Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2 Which You Should Watch Immediately__ I’ll save you all a scroll. I’m giving Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2 a 10/10. I usually reserve actually scoring an anime until I organize my thoughts into a review, but that isn’t needed this time around. My thoughts are collected: I am madly in love with the second half of the season. Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2 directly follows the first half, with Eren and the rest of the survey corps traveling back to the Shinganshina district in order to retake it and discover the secrets to Eren’s father, Grisha Yaegar’s, basement. Unless they’re really good, I tend to skip openings. I found it nigh-impossible to _not_ watch Attack on Titan’s S3P2’s opening week after week. I was so excited seeing the opening for the first time - hearing how it sounded like a combination of my favorite Attack on Titan openings (the first and third) and seeing how we’d get another epic fight. _Shoukei to Shikabane_ no Michi is just one example of the show’s excellence. Blending beautiful action and heart-pumping music to show viewers a snippet of what’s to come and enticing them to watch.? This is an opening done right. Attack on Titan S3P2 continues the tradition of having a brisk pace - at least since season 2, each twenty-two-minute episode feels more like a twelve-minute episode and I absolutely love the sense of feeling like I absolutely need to watch the next episode. It’s the equivalent of having a book that you cannot put down and few anime I’ve watched achieve this sensation. As an aside, this is especially cool because this half, for the majority, really did take place in a really short timeframe. Prior to S3P2, season 2 was my favorite season because of the curves it threw the viewers. This mainly came from the reveal that Bertholdt and Reiner were the Colossal Titan and Armored Titan, respectively. I was disappointed that we didn’t get a reveal that powerful to me in the first half. The second half more than makes up for that as we finally discover what Grisha was hiding and the answer is haunting, recontextualizing the entire series as we realize that most of the titans aren’t the bad guys after all, just a product of terrible circumstance combined with the true villains who until now have gone unknown. I can’t wait to see the things the fans took for granted in light of not having all of the information. Revelations aren’t the only things that make me excited for the future of the show. The fact that the Survey Corps has all but been decimated will have long-standing consequences. I love how much the characters have been changed, scarred by the events of the show. The ocean scene at the end is absolutely beautiful in composition, but Eren’s mental psyche is so shattered that we can’t help but feel chilled as he ponders if he and the other Eldians will ever truly be free. And I acknowledge that S3P2 wasn’t literally perfect. I can admit that the Plot Armored Titan, as my affectionate nickname suggests, utilized deus ex machina to a ridiculous fucking amount (then again, I suppose once is ridiculous enough) to ensure its survival. After escaping following getting his shit rocked by Eren in season 2, Reiner is fatally wounded by Levi, but he’s able to transform (and thus heal) anyway because he transferred his consciousness down his spinal cord and away from his brain. Let’s ignore the fact that this doesn’t make any sense and focus on the fact that this was never established as being possible before. It’s fine to reveal new, powerful abilities, but it’s understandably irksome when these never-before-seen powers determine the tide of the battle/plot. Then, later, Reiner is suffers more injuries that should be fatal and he _still isn’t dead_. Colossal Titan still looks like complete garbage at times (and I only now realized why he looks amazing at times and like hot mess at others - it’s hard to animate it in motion but it’s fine when stationary). Arimin surviving was somewhat annoying at first for me because I felt like they only did it because he was a main character and were afraid to kill him off. And the fact that the third season was split up at all is simply annoying for me as a viewer since I had to wait and felt I forgot important details (luckily, I was fine). These are nitpicky details, but even so, they are faults I had, so why didn’t they detract from my score? I think the reason is because these were all things that, while I disliked at the time, resulted in things that I loved about the season. With Reiner not dying (at least for the first time,) we wouldn’t have gotten the epic, beautifully animated and cathartic fight between The Advancing Titan and the Armored Titan. Characterization has been phenomenal in Attack on Titan, particularly this season, so even if I didn’t like Armin surviving at first, he’s already had to deal with people criticizing him and his team for saving his life over Erwin’s. I’m confident that there will continue to be real consequences for Armin, ensuing that his survival isn’t an unambiguously net positive. Finally, I accept the wait for the second half as well as Colossal Titan’s shoddy CGI because the studio needs the time to animate. As good as Attack on Titan looks, it would be a disservice to rush it just to ensure the episodes come out earlier and it would be a disservice to pool too many resources away from the amazing animation of the fights and the 3D maneuver gear just to make the colossal titan look better. I would rather we have kept the powerful ocean scene than an awesome-looking Colossal Titan. Overall, this second half is by far the best that Attack on Titan has to offer. It has elevated the entire show. Ten measly episodes have enhanced an entire 50+ episode series. It should be clear why I think this is so phenomenal. Ever since I started reviewing, I’ve done my best to avoid tens. I’ve tended to pass them out willy-nilly, but this truly deserves it and I cannot wait to see how the story concludes next season. Most of my love for this series comes from the writing, so I’d like to thank Isayama, the mangaka responsible for Attack on Titan. And I’d like to thank Studio WIT for bringing his ideas to the small screen. While there’s word that they might not return next season, I’m happy at the work they’ve done so far. _“If we kill all our enemies beyond the sea, will we finally be free?”_ 10/10 A+CryingLad

This review will contain Heavy Spoilers for the show! ]()
This is by far the most amazing season/anime in the history. The story gets such a fucking twist that it kept me on the edge of my seat.[(SPOILER AHEAD) STORY:]()
This season (or should I say 2nd cour to Season 3) starts off with the Survey Corps at Shiganshina, they are scouting for Reiner and Bertholdt, whom are seen as the enemies #1. The start of the season is mostly just the fight between Eren and Reiner but than it happens. The whole story is dumped on us, the basement.(I already warned like twice but here's yet another warning, for those who haven't seen any AoT season or just this one.)
The basement is by far the most anticipated moment in Anime history, what hides there? What secrets will we find? How do we defeat the titans?
Well we got to know all of that and so much more. The basement has a book written by Grisha Yeager (The Father of Eren). It also contains a photo of Grisha in the past. The twist is... the Titans are actually the humans, or just a different race. Eren, Levi, Armin. They all have the capability to turn into a titan, that is after being injected with the fluid. There is another race of Humans who cannot do this, they have been oppressing the Titan Changers for a long time. Grisha was one of the many who wanted to start a revolution agaisnt this and thus Eren came into the picture, after being found out and tossed (without being turned) into the "Titan Pit" he ran to the walls and started his plan.I majorily simplifying this season, yes But if we were to point out each and every little detail we would have to be here for quite some time. The moment in which all of the pieces start to fit together was just such an amazing moment.
[CHARACTERS:]()
The main cast basically is untouched, well apart from Eren, Reiner, and Bertholdt.Eren - He matures the fuck up, kinda, mostly he just has a sadder atmosphere to him at the end of the season. This can be greatly attributed to the fact that so much knowledge about the outside world has been dumped on him and the future of lays on his shoulders. He is determined nonetheless to eradicate the enmies...which now are a bit different from before.
Reiner - He is mostly the same as we've seen in the previous seasons but the key difference is that during the fight with Eren and the capturing of him we get to see his desperation, and also we now know he is a much bigger piece of this whole plot. He gets re-taken by the "Enemies" (I don't know what to call them as they are part of the same Race as Eren but also wants Eren gone)
Bertholdt - He is more calm and thoughtful, doesn't fall for those easy trick of Armin. That's basically all I can say about him, oh actually he also manages to save Armin... by dying.
We also get a look at Zeke (Beast Titan), a character which is part of the Reiner group. He lurks mostly on the off stage (his major moment was the fight with Levi.) Erwin was the MVP of this whole thing by the way, his scenes made me honestly tear up. He was by far the most important character AoT had.
[ART/ANIMATION:]()
WIT Studio is honestly my favourite studio due to this whole series, time and time again they have proven that they are capable of such good works. The fights are amazingly animated with all of the 3D maneuver gear scenes being smooth and crisp. The Colossus which was done in CGI was a bit of a let down but honestly I don't mind, its clear that the budget went to the fighting and also that amazing end scene with the ocean, that Ocean scene was amazing.[MUSIC:]()
The OP and ED are such bops, I've been listening to them so god damn much.
The OST is always good in AoT and this entry does not dissapoint, the music fits so well with each scene, amazing bops to be had.[OVERALL OPINION:]()
This season...it is amazing. The animation, the story, the soundtrack, and the characters all come together to make something so unique and great. This felt like just the start, so many questions answered but so many new questions appearing. I love this series, honestly. This season is by far the most amazing thing to have come out in the recent years. Yeah AoT gets a lot of Hype but in my honest opinion it is very much deserved.
