DESCRIPTION
Our hero, Mo Fan, inherits a magical necklace—the next day, he wakes up to find that the world has changed. His high school now teaches magic, and students are encouraged to try and become accomplished magicians. A world that ran on science now runs on magic. However, some things are still the same. He still has a teacher who sees him as a hopeless student, classmates who look the same, a father who struggles to make ends meet, and a not-by-blood little sister who can't walk on her own.
However, Mo Fan discovers that the vast majority of magicians can only harness one element of magic. As luck would have it, however, he is an exception—a versatile mage!

18/100Who on earth likes this?Continue on AniListRacing games supposedly make up a huge portion of video game sales, yet I know basically no one who plays racing games.
I feel the same way about this manga. I've never heard anyone talk about this, but it's the 4th most popular manga of all time on Manga Rock, with nearly 30 million reads. The main character, Mo Fan, is possibly the culmination of every boring shounen stereotype. His personality is douchey to the point that it really starts to make him unlikable; he'll act like an arrogant stuck up asshole and justify it because people act like arrogant stuck up assholes to him. In particular, rich guys in this manga are completely unrealistic pricks who think that money and status are everything, going so far as to claim "money is a type of skill too."
As for Mo Fan's powers, there's pretty much nothing unique about him. In a sense, there's literally nothing that he can do that other people can't also do. While it may sound impressive that he gains twice as many powers as normal people, this feeling quickly goes away once you realize that this just makes him about as tough as two people.
The powers themselves are pretty boring and standard, mostly just being the ability to produce an element. Leveling up these powers doesn't really change them much either. Lightning just becomes bigger lightning, fire just becomes bigger fire, etc. While this may seem like a nitpick, I found any semblance of immersion completely ruined when characters consistently couldn't figure out that he was Mo Fan when he put a mask over his mouth and called himself Fan Mo. I guess when the author is stupid it's hard for them to write characters that aren't also stupid.
There isn't really any sort of overarching story. We mostly just watch Mo Fan try to get stronger and get caught in the middle of random crises along the way.
The art isn't bad, but it isn't that technically impressive or unique either. Its artstyle can be found pretty commonly in Chinese manga and just adds to its forgettability.
It's hard to comment on the overall quality of characters in this manga, as everyone but Mo Fan is wholly recognized as a side character, with him being the only one consistently appearing over the manga's duration. Most of the side characters can be categorized into two parts: super impressed by Mo Fan, or antagonists of Mo Fan.
Luckily for this manga though, it does have a saving grace: tropes exist for a reason. Sure the manga takes literally 0 creative risks or innovations, but if you follow a working formula you'll still get something somewhat entertaining.
Overall, there's not a whole lot that makes this manga feel unique. Pretty much every aspect of it has been done before, and the execution this time for each of these aspects is honestly pretty disappointing. While some series, Boku no Hero Academia for example, manage to compensate for their lack of originality with production quality, this series doesn't have that benefit.
so yeah, that's about it

19/100its bad, read something else. like, oof.Continue on AniListBRUH. rip to the people who have read this. yikes. anyway. don't read it and go read something else. why does this have so much content... who reads this and who keeps greenlighting this. how.
I mean, at least the author is successful right? im glad someone's series doesn't get axed like all the shonen jump potential. if only those series could have gone on longer.sus.
meanwhile over here at SonnyBoy episode 6:
I just love how they keep incorporating elements and things from the previous episodes. the monkeys and the mouse and the curtains and the artefacts and previous worlds they have been in like the island. my favourite bits are the powers/visuals and the details of character emotions and thoughts through little snippets. this episode was going so fast that im going to have to watch it again. i feel like there should be cuts of all the different characters scenes only showing them episode to episode, to really piece together what they are thinking and try and understand them more. its pretty clear, but i still dont get Hoshi that much. what is his goal. god/saviour complex? controller? just a snarky leader who can see the future events? which student is the boob teacher? perhaps she is also a student like the dog senpai who's form changes her. perhaps she had a crush on Cool guy/Asakaze and she knows that he had a crush on the teacher??? is that her power, why does she have knowledge about trying to save the world or whatever. anyway, im sure it will all be revealed-ish later. i dont really care so much how clean the narrative is as im having a good time with everything else anyway. Sonny boy is just awesome. i wish the episodes were longer tho. i want to see Mizuho playing with her cats more, and what the other groups of students are up to and thinking.its so visually stunning and its fun. its better than whatever this is. far out, The gamer is better than this and its The Gamer.... like....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................Bruh. this is the worst thing i've read so far. i read about 50-60 chapters since it was one of the first non Japanese manga's. i'm just glad I picked up sololeveling since its much better and the art is fantastic.
2/10, too much Batman, not enough Batman.
2000+ words... why. there really isnt much to talk about with this series. it will just be pointing out all the bad bits. the chracters, the powers, the plot, the art, the bad guys... yikes. anyway at least the author has made a series and it is doing well enough to get lik 5 seasons and hundreds of chapters. how are they making this much in such a short amount of time. if only we got more content from shows that we actually like, HiatusXHaitus needs this team's speed. i wish the guy could get help. maybe Murata from onepunchman art, could help. since he could flawlessly recreate Araki's JOJO style from part 3. its god-like. anyway big rip. can i send my review now anilist... Internal Server error... nooooo.
