75/100review from someone who played the gameContinue on AniListAnyone who sees this review, please read this if you did not understand what you have watched. Or even if you did understand (because you play the game), you may still read! I play this game, so I already understood what was going on for the most part.
though this is a dating sim otome game, this anime has NO ROMANCE at all whatsoever. this is NOT A REVERSE HAREM ANIME. it may be in the game itself but there is literally no romance at all whatsoever LMAO. there may be bits of it that could be seen as romance, but most of the dialogue and actions are platonic.
IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU WATCHED, it's probably because you didn't play the otome game or you aren't caught up in the game. as a person who plays the game, i HIGHLY recommend you play the game first up to chapter 18 before watching the anime. if you play the game but aren't there or pass that chapter, and you DON'T care about spoilers then okay. but each episode goes by really quickly, meaning it doesn't exactly cover EVERY SINGLE part of each chapter in the game, and it just covers the main parts. at least from my understanding, and what other game players have said, it goes up to chapter 18 and that's it.
ACTUAL REVIEW (cw: spoilers!):
okay, honestly speaking. the anime was alright to me. i mean i didn't expect it to cover everything i have read in the game, but i guess it was kind of underwhelming in a way. i guess to make a proper review, I'll make a few sections.—CHARACTERS/VAs: 10/10
they changed their names for this anime and made it Japanese names, which doesn't really affect the story but that's just a fact I'm pointing out. this section will kind of connect to the art style section, and this part is just for me to talk about the va's and the characters themselves. i am GLAD they kept the same Japanese voice actors, otherwise i would felt weird hearing someone for victor that isn't necessarily victor... LMAO. i also am glad that the other minor characters such as kiki, anna, etc, all came in and appeared as well. they finally gave them characters some voices HAHAH. but for mc, she didn't really have a name in the anime. i mean she really doesn't have a name in general anyways as the mc is y/n, but the voice actor for her is highly accurate and what i pictured it to be.—STORY (based on what was shown in the anime): 7/10
i am kind of disappointed that they left lots of other important things that were part of the story, but overall they did cover the main points of the story, such as how gavin grew a liking for mc in high school, and basically kept how all the characters met mc, and blah blah blah. they also kept the fact that kiro is helios and whatnot, but what i didn't understand is that one-second appearance of shaw, who i think only appears after chapter 18 in the game??? (i think) it honestly would get me confused if i was a new reader because shaw appears for one second on a rooftop or something with gavin then leaves and never shows again like huh LMAO??? each episode was very fast paced too, like they were really just getting to the point each time and not dragging out anything, which is good but its almost as if it was rushed LOL. i think the overall story is good in the game, but i just wish they have portrayed more things in the anime. that's just my view as a game player. though i did wish for a bit of romance, it was expected there wouldn't be as the story does not revolve around the romance, and moreso, the situations about revolvers, blackswan, etc.—ART STYLE: 9/10
the art style was surprisingly very accurate to the game style. i mean, if it is the same person that draws the game style for the anime, then of course, but i can still tell that it is slightly a bit different. which is okay though because i don't expect it to be too accurate now that the characters are actually moving lmao. i do love the style though, gavin and victor are still very attractive hehe,... along with lucien and kiro ! shaw is also very attractive and i wish he didn't appear for like 1 second lolOVERALL:
its not something rewatchable. i mean its something watchable if you're playing the game and curious as to what the scenes would look like if they moved LMAO but overall, it was decent. nothing too special really
