80/100"Can I... make a request...?"Continue on AniListIf any of you reading this take a glance at my posts from time to time, or even follow me on here, you'll know that I've recently came back to my yuri arc, stronger than ever before. The manga I want to review today was actually the first manga I layed my grippy, yuri-needing hands on after coming back to the genre. Let's dive in...
Description
Lonely Girl ni Sakaraenai, or more commonly known in English speaking countries as Can't Defy the Lonely Girl, is, as you might have guessed already, a yuri manga. This manga follows the steps of Ayaka Sakurai, a model student with exam anxiety and a soft spot for baby chick characters of all sorts, and Sora Honda, a loner girl with a soft spot for, well... Ayaka. The two of them meet after Ayaka is tasked by one of her teacher to convince Sora to come back to school, since she had been skipping classes for a while now. After getting to her house, Sora accepts surprisingly fast, but that's only because she wants to make a deal: Sora wants to be able to make one request to Ayaka each and every day.
The art-style is very much like that of a shoujo manga: cute and somewhat cold at times, and is especially good in how the characters are drawn. It also makes great use of chibis to ease up the story with smile-inducing panels.
Both the characters of Ayaka and Sora are well established, with Ayaka being serious and clumsy and Sora being needy and straight-forward. The most well-thought-out characters of this manga, though, are the side-characters, which are interesting, yet somewhat flawed, making them feel real.
There are 32 chapters, each one of them around 20 to 30 pages long, making for a fairly long read despite the short amount of chapters. The author, Kashikaze, also put out lots of extra chapters, mostly omakes, which bring the total chapter count to 52.
Thoughts
I want to start by saying that the chibi panels in this manga are divine. It might just be me having a soft spot for chibis, but they are some of my favourite panels ever, no doubt about it, and are definitely one of the main reasons I'm making this review.
When it comes to the characters, and as I've mentioned before, I fell in love with most of the side-characters. I mean, don't get me wrong here, both the main-characters are great, but there's just something about the other that makes them special.
The story-arcs, if you'll let me user the term, never felt drawn-out or too short, but were actually really well spaced out, both in themselves and between one another, making for a seamless transition between each one.
If I had to give this manga a fair rating, I would give it no less than 8 out of 10, as I feel like that's well deserved.

90/100Denaturalization - To accept is your love is to changeContinue on AniListI Can't say no to the Lonely Girl, it's a simple yet refeshing romance to read.
In this review i will try to discuss about the themes and topics that the manga touched and developed through it's history, naturally that will be spoiler ahead, and i recommend you to check it out in case if you don't had read it.
Introduction
I Can't Say no to the Lonely Girl starts with a really simple pespective: Sora is a loner, which had fall in love with Ayaka, a model student which is popular and good and most of everything, but with one defect. She can't handle doing things under pressure, which leads her to failing and staying a local school.
Esagawa-sensei, her teacher, seeing her effort yet her problems with exams, makes a proposition, that if she can return the missing student (which not to later, is revelead to be sora itself) she will write a recommedation letter for her.
Ayaka with sucess, returns the student to the school, but not without any catch. Sora knew her ulterior motivation to which lead for pursuing her, and takes advantage of it.
Sora will continue to go school, but only if Ayaka accept her daily wish, and for that day, it's a kiss.
The history will develop as the requests are being made, and changing their relationship and making they grow as person in the process.Denaturalization - To accept is your love is to change
One of the main themes that i feel in "I Can't Say no to the Lonely Girl" is the capacity of changing itself after understading your own feelings.
A queer relationship itself it's a challenge, but being able to acknowledge your own feelings and still confess, can a door-opening experience.
When Ayaka understands her own feelings about Sora, and how special she can be, not only she makes a decision right a way, but later this makes her question what she really wanted to do with her life after all.
Being born in a family of just professors made her mind believe that she need to pursue the same carrer, in the same way, but after such difficult choices her mind in a natural manner questions this way of thinking.
In our society we are constantly expected to behave in a way that fit under certain standarts without us even knowing, that's extends the topic not just from a queer pespective, but it invite us to see the true reason we are making our own actions.
Are we are really making this action by our own reasons? Or It is because it was forced upon us? Or It was because were are to afraid to act?
The reflection and the denaturalization of a "standart" way to behave and think that truly makes Ayaka grow herself and her relationship.
That, i feel, is such a simple yet strong reflection that i need to share it here. Conclusion
In the end, I Can't Say No to the Lonely Girl is easily of my favorites, it's a light-hearted and cute romance, yet it touches in important themes.
Definitely a 9/10!

100/100adorably crafted yuriContinue on AniListi can't say no to the lonely girl will be forever that manga for me. it's forever my number one. to say that this manga is adorable is understatement i wish there's more word to define how adorable this manga is (i will say this word a lot from now on). the storyline for is so adorable, the characters.. oh the characters.. my baby sora and ayaka my forever cutie babies sorayaka <3
for an adorable work, this manga has many kisses moments ^__^ all adorable of course. so cute. the story is super interesting even from the beginning i actually didn't expected it to be like that. it was so interesting for me to keep reading and reached the end. until i become so in love and so obsessed with the story, with the characters.
on the other hand, the story is also wholesome. about high schoolers figuring out what they want to do in the future and i think that's so nice for them to have that kind of plot. ayaka figuring out she didn't need to do everything she thinks she needs to do (just because her family did it, she must become one too) i'm so happy to see how she choose her career path as a kindergarten so much she's so good with kids :")♡ and sora.. i have so, so much love for this girl.. my baby sora.. i thought the story will unfolds with the truth about the mysterious girl sora but she was just a lonely kid who didn't even had adults around her to accompany her. poor her. i dislike her mother, she's so bad. coming into sora's life so suddenly just to did that. i'm glad they make sora ended up living alone and stay with ayaka! love how she realized she has a passion in baking i love it so much it suits her a lot ??? i'm really rooting for her as much as how much i'm rooting for both of them! they are the loveliest the bestest girls on the who deserve soooo much love and all the pretty things in the world!
i can say that i can't say no to the lonely girl is a great work and my favourite ever is because the story is the kind of story that i want and that i love. how both characters stay madly deeply in love in the middle of their daily life. i love a story where the main characters never seperate their love life with their real life lol i just love it when they stay lovey dovey with each other and this story just gave me what i always wanted!!!! stay focused on both of them and their love. so sweet.
THE ART IS PERFECT SOOO PRETTYYYYY sora is the cutest character ever T____T i love her so much and ayaka of course ayaka she's adorbs UGH i'm obsessed with the art and THE ENDING WAS SO PERFECT <3 say yes to lesbians who ended up living together huhu so perfect.. their side story marking too!! so in love sora's crying was adorable but also poor baby for thinking ayaka is cheating on her ? but their moment always so memorable oh i love them so much.. honestly words cannot describe how much adoration and love i have for this manga. no words can ever describe it. i love this manga so, so much. so much that i will forever keep this inside my heart.
