A series that can't decide if it wants to be comedy or an shonen exorcist series
Bone collection is a Weekly Shonen Jump series by Jun Kiarazaka and ran from April 27 to August 24 2020 with a total of 15 chapters with a extra bonus chapter compiling into a total of 2 volumes.

I'm just going to say right out the bat that yes this is an axed Shonen Jump title and Yes it is bad

The plot follows Kazami Jinai who is trying to live up in his family's name as a exorcist trying to protect Japan from evil Yo kai. The problem with him is that he has no techniques at all except for a forbidden technique which grants the user to use the power of a Yo kai which is punishable by death. After getting scolded by his childhood friend for almost using the technique on a low-ranked yo kai, he runs away and ends up encountering a portal from the Yo kai world which shoots out a girl. This is girl is Piara and she is a high ranked SSS Yo kai in which the man character takes a liking to. She requests him to use the forbidden technique in order to turn her human which is the goal of the series. Kazami must use all of Piara's bones in order to turn her human while keeping the secret of her being a yo kai and using the forbidden technique.
But what is so bad about the technique. The answer is the user could end up becoming a yo kai themselves, weird since it's never shown at all.

The plot of the series just goes nowhere at all. First it's introduction arc, then it's a mission arc, then it's two chapters of nothing and then the final arc. The story is not good at all but what about characters and artstyle.

Let's start off with the art of Bone Collection. From what I heard a lot of people disliked the artstyle of Bone collection however that wasn't case for me. Bone Collection had some art that looked fine and some panels were good in my opinion like this one:

However, there were also some ugly looking panels that I disliked which I think where some people got it from like this one:

So when it comes to artstyle its fine but sometimes be stupid or just plain ugly.

But now Characters what do I think, they are awful. The main character is annoying but not as much as my most hated character in this series. Piara's sister is the most awful character in this series, I hate her so much because she is annoying, acts like a total brat and everytime I look at the disguise she uses in order to blend in the human world, I just want to turn off my computer and forget about her:

AND yes that adult looking man is her sister in her disguise. (Sorry for not putting in the sister's real form, I couldn't find an image)

Then don't get me started about Rino(the childhood friend) and Kazami's brother. These two were wasted potenial characters. Kazami's brother is very strict with the exorcist rules and hates his brother for being weak and I thought we could get a great fight between them only for Piara to literally wreck him at the end of the 2nd chapter. Then Rino is literally used for the beginning and then is just gone after the first major arc and doesn't return until the last chapter.
Piara I don't hate as much as the other characters but she still annoying.
There were only 3 characters I liked in this series and they introduced at the end of the series and they were the final villain Kyubi and the twin girls who use a stronger version of the forbidden technique because they were normal:

Another thing to note is the series has a problem of also having comedy mixed in. Some series do this a lot but Bone Collection's is awful. Nothing is funny and just feels really stupid.

Bone collection is a bad Shonen Jump series that always uses bad comedy just to make the series funny and has characters who become wasted by it's writing or are just plain annoying. The art is fine but can sometimes become bad for comedic purposes. This series is an easy read with a total of 15 chapters but I wouldn't recommend this series.
