73/100surprisingly bingable story about a villainess trapped in an otome good for first timers to dwelve in villainess genreContinue on AniListAnother villainess manhwa to the pile of these genre, but with a twist (lol), the story starts with the typical plot of "oh i am woman that is hated by my family and don't what to do with my life"
which is surprisingly relatable i might addthat started playing this new trending otome game (how does an niche genre as otome gets trending? ask the author) after finishing the game it gives a notice that the "hard mode" has unlocked and now she can play as the villainess in the game, so of course she starts playing real hard on the game and notices how hard it is for her to stay alive in the game, after sleeping for a bit she wakes up in the body of penelope the mentioned villainess, and now she has to stay on top of her game to keep her head above her shoulders.Like the title implies this story is bingable, you sit down and you read and read like junk food because that's what it is, there's no deeper meaning besides enjoying this story as a typical case of villainess genre that is somewhat unique, but, what sets this story apart from the normal stories? simple, the stupid gauge that every male lead has above their head, the main character can see how much the characters like her by a % and it shakes up a bit the formula with 2 of the 4 male lead starting their gauge in the -minus numbers you can see what makes it more interesting, it also had a choice system at the beginning but that got thrown away so the tension of making choices was gone then it devolves itself like any other villaines hiting the same notes, yet i can't stop reading it.
Let's talk about the characters, the MC is... clever yet stupid, she is smart enough at times to not get herself killed and she knows how to talk back yet she gets in those situations herself and assumes stuff that might actually get her killed, but again, she is interesting as a wronged heroine type and i do like how she puts in place some of the male leads, and talking about the male leads... boy do i not like them, i hate stories that deal with a character getting abused and only because the MC involves itself in their body the characters that abused her are now loving her, let's start with the most annoying of the 4 reynold, by god do i want to cave his teeth with my fist, he didn't care about the penelope before the MC came in and the reason why she is so bullied in the household was because of him, now normally you would think that this character duty in the story is to fuck off to do his own business but no, throught the story after penelope starts talking to him and he starts developing this big brother persona that tries to protect the MC, now i wouldn't mind this, if he wasn't a fucking piece of shit before the story at least we do get the MC yelling at him for his shit which is nice, so do look forward to that.
The second male lead derrick also hates the main character but he is more bearable, i wouldn't mind drop kicking him but he is nice enough i can buy him changing his personality throught the story to the point i might even look forward to his face appearing once or twice and he does have some semblance of regret for what he has done so yay for that i guess, the 3rd male lead is... well.. an slave, he gets brought over later on and he is an slave that the MC bought, she did it because that's "her ticket to the good ending" or something... i'll be honest here and say that i hate the "saving the slave by buying him" approach but at least he is happy... right? he is a blank state, he doesn't have a personality except "i will follow you MC to the end of earth" which is incredibly meh.
Now the 4th male lead is interesting, he is a murderous bastard that is willing to take the MC throat the first time she meets him, and i gotta say he is actually the one i'm looking forward the most in the story due to how interesting he is as a character, i guess it says something that i actually forgot there was another male lead while doing the review, but who cares about the mage, at least he is okay? actually i think he is one of the two that doesn't treat the MC as shit, now there's one more character that i must talk about, which is the father of penelope and the same as the first male lead i talked about, i too, wish for him to fuck off and die, but that's just me being biased, he gets slightly(?) better even if the MC barely talks to him and he like the brother has a "must protect MC" persona later on, on the MC which i also hated.
The art is good, i think this one is one of the few manhwa that i actually think the art is noteworthy to read for, it has some care in the backgrounds and the details in the main character are noticeable and good, a lot of good constrasting colors.
Beyond that can i say i like this manhwa? yes, even with the criticism the story is okay enough for me to keep reading and i do like seeing a happy feeling story about a character getting her life together i would honestly even recommend it as a first read in the villainess genre if you are interested to dive in.

95/100Peak villainess manhwa with an amazing FL who doesn't take bullshit from othersContinue on AniListPeak Villainess Story:
The story just makes you feel and understand the FL's constant struggles while also getting satisfying scenes so the whole manhwa isn't just pain and suffering.
To start things off the characters:
-Like I've stated before Penelope, the FL, is an excellent character and perfect for the villainess role. She's not a pushover and has a really cool and calm personality despite being someone who constantly suffers from the assholes around her. She's able to fight for herself and not only that but she's drop dead gorgeous. Literal queen type character.
-We have 5 male characters in this "harem" type manhwa. Though do not be mistaken not every man is romantically attracted to her. Two of the main male characters which have a strong focus on during this are her brother-in-laws. Because the original character is adopted as a replacement for a deceased girl she also just so happens to get neglected and face harsh treatment. So when we take Penelope's pov with the reincarnated person we are able to get a clear view of the kind of treatment she receives, especially from the two brothers. What makes the brothers really good characters is that they are realistically flawed. Throughout the story you can feel them slowly changing with their views towards the FL but at the same time keeping suspicions and past hatred. They don't immediately treat the FL like a goddess after one simple scene or sentence and there's a slow progression until the FL calls them out for their bullshit biased and uncalled for behavior. Those two scenes are the most satisfying ones in this entire manhwa and well worth the read for it.
-Moving on from the brothers though the more actual noteworthy characters have to be the father and the crown prince. With this most likely going to end up as a romance the crown prince is definitely the most favorable option. He has the typical "tyrant but actually not a bad person" type personality. He's a really cool character in general and also just not a complete dipshit for no reason. He has a snarky attitude adding on to his other colorful traits. The father who adopted Penelope is actually a great character in this manhwa mainly for the case of comedy and the "at least there's one person who doesn't treat the FL like utter garbage". He's a relaxing and chill character and he's obviously not the best person due to the backstory but at the very least he's a nice presence in the story.Art:
The art is top tier not much else to say about that. It's one of my favorite art styles in all of manhwa and all the characters are beautiful and/or handsome as fuck. All the expressions are detailed as fuck and some of the scenes give goosebumps with the expressions and the art just makes the scene just so much better.Story:
If you're looking mainly for romance this wouldn't be the best choice just because a lot of it is more focused on bettering relationships rather than romantic progress. FL spends a lot of time making sure the characters don't hate her enough to want to kill her. You definitely can see some romance progress made and obvious feelings shown from the male characters but if there is gonna be any real progress it will have to wait till later seasons. However, otherwise the story itself is pretty fun to follow. She goes around from character to character and has a bunch of interesting interactions that lead to cute, sad, or hilarious moments. In moments of conflicts, it's always tense but nonetheless leads to satisfying endings with new sides of all the characters.
Overall:
This is a hella good reason and one of my if not my favorite villainess manhwas of all time. I highly recommend this for anyone wanting to read a villainess manhwa or any medieval time era type manhwa.N1dokjafan
97/100This manhwa is purely amazing. Clever plot, amazing art and well-written characters. For me it has got it all.Continue on AniList"Minor spoiler alert" I won't be disclosing any major spoiler, but if you prefer going in blind then I suggest you don't read my review until you at least finish the 1st season of this manhwa.
One of the best Reincarnation stories that I ever had the chance to experience.
The story is set more on the psychological side of being reincarnated in an otome game ( since the main character has to collect "favority points" with each ML). The main character, Penelope Eckhart previously known as Siyeon, is reincarnated as the Villainess of her favorite Otome game. It sounds cliche at first, but the more you get into the story the more you realize how different and unique the story actually is. Penelope is treated like trash by her family because of her being the fake daughter of "Duke Eckhart" and becomes a coldhearted and cruel woman in no fault of her own. That's just the reflection of how she was treated all her life. This has to do with my next point, the fact that all of the Male protags try to kill her at some point. The Female protag of the story is probably a Mary-sue character. I say "proably" since she hasn't been introduced in the manhwa yet. But as of how she is described, and that fact that this story is set in an Otome game, I can only assume that she's the borish "No flaw" character that the Male leads fall for because "No reason at all". Anyway, that girl is the long lost daughter of the Eckhart family, and when she comes back, it's a turning point for Penelope. That's when everything becomes hell. The male leads all try to kill her, including her brothers that she has lived with all her life. That girl, whatever he name was, claims everything Penelope has worked for without breaking a sweat. But the reincarnated Penelope is different. I like how she changes her behaviour with her family completely while still putting a barrier between them. She doesn't forgive them, but that doesn't mean she won't give them a chance. She knows the story, understands it, and try to act how the original Penelope should have, instead of acting out as some bratty and violent girl. Penelope also reflects her past self as Siyeon in how Penelope was treated by her family. That's why she takes no sh** from anyone and forges her own path. And I love her so much for that. I think that's all I have to say for my basic story analysis.

Tho he still does kill with a smile on his face? We haven't gotten in the manhwa to the point of seeing a scene like that, but I hope it's soon. Anyways, I think he might be the best contender for the Love interest title but I'm still not to sure about it. Tho he's the one I am rooting for at least. We have other characters like Eclise, a fallen noble from a fallen country that becomes a slave and that Penelope buys in an auction. He's the most loyal to her and she has the most points with him. I find him a bit too " Puppy" like for my tastes but fans seem to love him the best. We have the brothers "Derrick" and "Reynold". Out of the two, I like "Reynold" the most. At leats he doesn't treat our protagonist like trash after they had a "heart-to-heart" conversation later in the story. Derrick is probably the one that I dislike the most. Not hate, but he is the worst character out of all of them for reasons I won't spoil since they are not obvious till the 2nd season. Last but not least, we have Vinter Berdandi, who is a wizard. Not that I dislike him, I actually like his design quite a bit. White hair, blue eyes and all. it's a shame he doesn't have anything more goings on for him. His bland and uninterresting. In my eyes his the worst of the Male protags. He doesn't hinder the readers experience, but he doesn't make it special. He's just "there". Because of the plot. I don't really think he will have any development that will make me change my mind. As for the art, it's simply mindblowing. I have nothing really to add here that it is some of the most beautiful art I have ever seen in a manhwa. The only one I can say rivals it is the art in "The villainess is a marionette" but even then, personally, it comes as a close second. Overall: I hope this review gave you reasons to read this story if you haven't or continue it if you have dropped it. I'm flabbergasted at the sheer quality and clever plot that I have missed out for so long. Give it a try, it's worth it by a long shot!
