Being seen as a full-fledged business woman isn’t easy for Futaba Igarashi when her senpai, Harumi, treats her like a kid. Days for her are never typical, at work or outside of it, with all the antics going on in her life. As mishaps ensue, she’ll find herself growing closer with her loudmouth senpai. Maybe Futaba feels more than she lets on, but one thing’s for sure: she’s still annoyed!

75/100This show is really good except for the main romance.Continue on AniListTL;DR/Spoiler-Free: Igarashi and Takeda's relationship gets boring after a few episodes and in those episodes Kazama and Touko aren't together yet and Yuto and Natsumi aren't very relevant yet so it's just kinda those two being like "I am embarrassed because I like you and I don't want people to know that I do nice things for you" "I am going to talk about how we constantly hang out" like that get's boring!! The show also has a few characters that are criminally underused and could have fixed this problem by getting more screentime. But it's fine the second half of the show makes up for it. 7.5/10 // 75/100
Spoilers Below!
~~
The plot is practically nonexistent, this show is very much episodic (doesn't even really have a conclusion so hoping it gets a season 2) so there's nothing to talk about on that front, and this show isn't really going for anything visually impressive, so this review is solely gonna focus on characters and their relationships. Why else are you watching a Slice of Life-Romance-Comedy anyway?
The Main Six
Originally I wanted to just talk about the characters here and their relationships later but after trying to write about Futaba and Harumi separately I realized that it's not beneficial or easy soooLet's start with our protagonist, the hard-working tsundere Futaba Igarashi!
Above the image describes her whole character. Listen, I love her, but she doesn't have much going on. And it's the same for her love interest. I just wish she wasn't the main character because I quickly find myself getting bored of her dynamic with Harumi who she spends the most time with.
Next up, the himbo partner of Futaba, Harumi Takeda!
POV Futaba says she doesn't like something and Harumi continues to do it. Like, do you see the two images I used for them? It's because the headpat thing is so frequent. Take a shot every time Futaba gets a headpat from Harumi YOU WILL DIE. He's a dumbass and if I'm being honest I don't reeeally like him. He also shows his dick to a high schooler and then talks about milk which is insane to me.
Let's take a look at a good main character, Touko Sakurai! (and Souta Kazama)
If the show had started focused on her and Kazama I genuinely think it would have been better. The men at the office are constantly trying to get with her and that makes it interesting when her and Kazama, who's regarded as kind of a loner by other characters, start secretly dating! Their plotline is way more interesting that Harumi and Futaba's and while it does get decent screentime I think it would have been more interesting to just lead off with them.
You know who doesn't get screentime? Touko's brother, Yuto Sakurai!
Now, I may have a blonde male bias, but I feel as though Yuto is one of like two characters this show actually uses well. He brings the group together on not one but two occasions and the best parts of the show are when the main six characters are all together.
And the person Yuto is left with when the couples are coupling, Natsumi Kurobe!
Firstly, Natsumi is probably the best character in the show. She elevates every scene she's in and I think if she wasn't in the show it would have a significantly worse rating. Also, her relationship with Yuto, despite not being romantic, is probably the best one in the show. I think it's super interesting, especially during the scene where they're playing with fireworks and he's like asking her for advice idk they're cute. The pair is criminally underused, which is a phrase I use a lot because of this show. Speaking of,
The Criminally Underused
AKA everyone elseLet's start with the most egregious, Mona Tsukishiro!
Honestly, why is she not a main character? She functions in the story a similar way to Natsumi for Futaba but she has like no screentime, it's actually vile. Also she's like the funniest part of the show, the dumpling scene is peak comedy for this show.
The dynamic duo of background but also not background characters? Ooishi & Hijikata!
The scene this image is from is really funny cuz these two are supposed to be close but he messes up his name lmao anyway
I think these two could have been more than just "I love women" "okay" like there are three episodes that are all basically the same thing you couldn't dedicate an episode to the people in the office?Like this is why Nichijou is goated frI don't care enough to add a picture of them but the Chief was used well and the grandpa was annoying lol. Like every time it was just Harumi and the Grandpa on screen I skipped the scene.
Final verdict uhh it could have been better and I think if they get greenlit for a season two it will be better than this. Here's hoping for a season two! 7.5/10 // 75/100

84/100It's amazing how an office can be so warmContinue on AniListIT'S AMAZING HOW AN OFFICE CAN BE SO WARM From my point of view this has been a much more satisfying season for comedy/romance/slice of life than for other genres. So this season I bring 2 reviews of the 2 anime that surprised me most positively. In particular, however, I want to reward "My Senpai is Annoying" for how it really managed to warm my heart in the last 3 months.

_____________ __PLOT:__ Very little to say about the plot being a very classic slice of life with stand-alone episodes. The anime mainly tells of the relationship between Igarashi Futaba and his senpai Takeda Harumi but like any anime of this type, goes on telling in parallel the events of a 2 'couple, the one formed by the 2 work colleagues of Futaba and Takeda, Souta Kazama and Touko Sakurai. In a very superficial way, however, he seems to want to take a third path that intrigues me a lot but I still don't know if it is actually possible to reach a satisfactory phase of their relationship (Natsumi and Yuto). Being the protagonists, Futaba and Takeda's relationship develops much more slowly than the other one and, in addition to telling how the two of them are trying to be more intimate, it gives us more than a moment of absolute bliss. Because this is what this anime gives to each episode, a deep sense of tranquility and comfort thanks to small scenes that alternate between funny and cute. Instead, the relationship between Sakurai and Kazama is much more direct for a simple reason: it has the task of interspersing with that of the protagonists to break a narrative rhythm that could otherwise be slow. Precisely because of this many (including myself) have so far preferred the couple formed by the 2 secondary characters but who knows that in the final parts Futaba and Takeda will be the ones to give us the greatest satisfaction. The only criticism I feel about these 12 episodes is the presence, perhaps a little too excessive, of scenes in which the girl (Futaba / Sakurai) is harassed by some strangers on the street. I respect and share the purpose of these scenes but I think I've seen 4-5 in 12 episodes and I think it would have been better to cut at least a couple, although I don't think it is a serious mistake anyway.

___________ __CHARACTERS:__ The characters are, given the simplicity of the plot, the driving force behind the series. They are very variable as personalities and the relationships that exist between them (not just the love ones) are very satisfying and contribute to giving the series that cuteness and calm that I always recommend to see every once in a while, perhaps after seeing a particularly intense series. The protagonist is Igarashi Futaba, a girl who has been working in an office for some years with Takeda (her senpai with whom she is slowly falling in love, thanks to his very affable personality and the support that he always gives her in any situation). Both members of the secondary couple of the show works in the same office, Sakurai (a beautiful girl and courted by numerous other colleagues) and Kazama (very reserved but with the passing of the episodes he manages to melt more and more in the presence of Sakurai). While their relationship demonstrates mutual interest, Futaba's is currently one-sided as Takeda sees her, at least for now, simply as a kohai or friend to protect and help, acting as senpai. As written above, there are also 2 other characters, Natsumi (best friend since Futaba's middle school) and Yuto (Sakurai's younger brother) who could give us very welcome surprises (at least to me) later in the story.

__________________ __ART/ANIMATIONS:__ Doga Kobo (Maojou de Oyasumi, Dumbbells), an animation studio that is now very well established in terms of slice of life, was in charge of the series. Their designs are truly splendid, defined but above all they always manage to bring out the maximum cuteness and sympathy from the characters of the show, thanks to the color and liveliness of the type of graphics. The graphic aspect was in fact another of the leading elements that helped to give us such a nice series. Note of merit also for the splendid illustrations at the end of every episode that have always been drawn by different artists, even very popular ones (those who have seen the anime in question can only recognize the illustration below by eye).

~~~ ___________________ __MUSIC:__ I now rejoin the compliments to Doga Kobo for the incredible visuals of the OP, which both visually and musically was absolutely one of my favorites this season (on a par with Komi-san's). The ED is also very beautiful, as are the very light OSTs that accompanied the narration. ________________ __CONCLUSION:__ In conclusion I can only recommend this anime to anyone looking for a light series to pass the time and turn off the batteries for a while. I definitely hope for a sequel but I think I'll start reading the manga anyway. _P.S. I am not a native English speaker, so I apologize for any mistakes_
85/100An innocent, light office romance that will make you laugh and forget about your trouble for a little whileContinue on AniListEnglish Version:
My senpai is annoying is one of the hidden gems that can be discovered in this anime season. By how it was marketed, both its name and its posters suggest that it would be a more mediocre comedy anime; But this was not the case at all. Senpai ga Uzai Kouhai no Hanashi exceeds its expectations in an incredible way, both in it lightness and it development and focus.It is a light and happy romantic comedy anime, which reassures you and makes you think of something else. It makes you rest a few minutes when daily life is very stressful. Regarding the romantic ambit, in the anime it is very childish, although the characters are adults with office jobs, being a bit frustrating or disappointing when it comes to showing affection. Although, it can be excused when speaking of the stereotype of Japanese people, who are very reserved with this subject.
This show follows the current trend of romance anime, being a mature romance with childish touches, that is because of the attitudes of the protagonists. Here the experience of the protagonist, Futaba Igarashi, in the beginning of her romance is captured to the spectators.
It has a good pace, each element is well laid out, and there are no exaggerations or misuses means regarding comedy. They don’t rush it, they expose the story with small snippets of interactions, which make sense, and this does not bore the viewer. The main emotions that it emits, when seeing these events, is tenderness, since they make a good development of the situations raised.
Although the main theme is love, the unrequited one, it is not the only one that is exposed in this anime. There are a number of arguments that get focus on this plot, which are very easy to relate. A very interesting one is how to deal with loneliness and that as an adult you have to live with it sometimes, without feeling bad or sad. And having to learn to have a good time with yourself.
It is not a flat show where only the story of the protagonists is contemplated, it extends to the relationships they have with their friends, what their stories are and the evolutions they have outside of the relationships with the protagonists. It has well-defined and deep characters, they may have some signs of being stereotyped, but they are not flat or unpleasant.
This anime shows the two faces of what is expected to be the Japanese reality, that is, not only respect, shyness and discomfort, elements that are represented. But also the jokes with friends, the over-protection and many other actions that show a closeness and tone of warmth that the characters have.
They introduce themes of trust, responsibility, and the importance of doing a good job into the story. Regarding respect, they do not explain it only in the work environment; they promote respect in both a loving and friendly relationship. The anime talks about protection and people´s respect, taking the protagonist as a victim when extra characters approach, but she defends herself and other main characters help her.
My Senpai is Annoying is an anime that can go unnoticed by many, but it must have the recognition of being a program that can take the viewer out of their stressful daily life, being able to make them laugh with its tenderness and calm pace. Also, showing that an office romance, or the beginning of an unrequited love, can be just as entertaining as any other.
Versión en Español:
My senpai is annoying es una de las joyas escondidas que se pueden descubrir en esta temporada de animes, ya que por cómo fue mercadeada, tanto su nombre como sus posters, daban a entender que sería un anime más de comedia mediocre; pero esto no fue así. Senpai ga Uzai Kouhai no Hanashi supera las expectativas de una manera increíble, tanto en su ligereza como su desarrollo y enfoque.
Es un anime romántico de comedia ligera y alegre, el cual tranquiliza y hace pensar en otra cosa. Da unos minutos de descanso cuando la vida diaria es muy estresante. Respecto al ámbito romántico, en el anime es muy infantil, aunque los personajes sean adultos con trabajos de oficina, siendo un poco frustrante o decepcionante a la hora de mostrar afecto. Aunque, se puede excusar al hablar del estereotipo de los japoneses, que son muy reservados con este tema.
Este show sigue la tendencia actual de los animes de romance, siendo un romance maduro con toques infantiles, como antes mencionado, es que es por las actitudes de los protagonistas. Aquí se plasma, a los espectadores, la experiencia de la protagonista, Futaba Igarashi, en el inicio de su romance.
Tiene un buen ritmo, cada elemento está bien distribuido y no hay exageraciones ni malos usos de recurso con respecto a la comedia. No se apresura, van exponiendo la historia con pequeños retazos de interacciones, que tienen sentido, y esto no aburre al espectador. Las principales emociones que emite, al ver estos sucesos, es de ternura, ya que hacen un buen desarrollo de las situaciones planteadas.
Aunque el tema principal es el amor, el no correspondido, no es el único que se expone en este anime. Hay una serie de argumentos que tienen foco en esta trama, con los cuales es muy fácil de poder relacionarse. Uno muy interesante es como lidiar con la soledad y que como adulto hay que convivir a veces con eso, sin sentirse mal o triste. Y el tener que aprender a pasar un buen tiempo con uno mismo.
No es un show plano donde solo se contempla la historia de los protagonistas, este se extiende y se presencia las relaciones que tienen con sus amigos, cuales son las historias de estos y las evoluciones que tienen fuera de las relaciones con los protagonistas. Tiene personajes bien definidos y con profundidad, puede que tengan algunos indicios de ser estereotipados, pero no son planos ni desagradables.
Este anime muestra las dos caras de lo que se espera sea la realidad japonesa, es decir, no solo el respeto, timidez e incomodidad, elementos que si se encuentran representados. Pero también los chistes con amigos, la sobreprotección y muchas otras acciones que muestran una cercanía y tonalidad de calidez que tienen los personajes.
Introducen en la historia temas referentes a la confianza, responsabilidad y la importancia de hacer un buen trabajo. Referente al respeto no lo explican solo en el ambiente laboral; fomentan el respeto en una relación tanto amorosa como de amistad. Habla sobre la protección y el respeto a la persona, tomando a la protagonista como víctima cuando personajes extras se acercan, pero esta se defiende y otros personajes principales la ayudan.
My Senpai is Annoying es un anime que puede pasar desapercibido por muchos, pero debe tener el reconocimiento de ser un programa que puede sacar al espectador de su día a día para poder hacerlo reír con su ternura y ritmo tranquilo. Asimismo, mostrando que un romance de oficina, o inicio de un amor no correspondido, puede ser igual de entretenido que cualquier otro.
