90/100Shine On My Beautiful GirlsContinue on AniListNote: not really much of a proper review - just more sharing my thoughts of why I loved this show and regardless if you agree with my score or not. I just hope that at least that there might be some who could've enjoyed this along with me.
This show isn't going to be one that really shines like other shows that has establish a lasting legacy such as "Love Live!" But regardless of that, I really enjoyed it a lot. I love it's simple theme of wanting to shine for others. Since the thing about us is that we are drawn to light. What makes a idol shine is their fans and why are we drawn to idols/celebrity, because they shine. They draw us in with their talents and skills. We become captivated by them.
Is this something worth watching? Well for fans of idol anime, I think it's worth checking out. One thing this show really shine at was the beautiful animation. I think it's one aspect of the show that probably did really great. If you noticed all the subtle details in their movement and how their timing of one another was off, it was really well done. That is probably one of the greatest praise I can give this show. The 2D dance scene were just amazing <3
As for characters and their motivations. I think for the most part, I really enjoyed the characters. I think the only one character who I don't necessarily hate or not like is Haru's friend Ren. I mean she could've or should've said something earlier but whatever, I don't honestly understand girls to begin with lol...
As for TINGS themselves, for the most part, I enjoyed them. I think apart from Haru who's obviously the best girl. I think Kyouka had the second best character growth. Not only did she has episode 2 dedicated to her, there's also her growth throughout the series of wanting to improve on herself. She is also one of the one that really holds the group together as well.
As for Rio, I think her character is fine. I don't think her character arc or development is great or anything. It's more just wanting to find what she's best at. And I will say her voice was AMAZING! Her song really caught me off guard by how much I was gonna love it. It was probably my favorite out of all their performance, since that song was beautiful in itself.
Sorry I don't really have much to say about the other two, they were great as more of supporting characters. The whole drama thing could've been better written. But it's fine as it is, no real complaints beyond that.
And off course let's talk about best GIRL HARU!!!
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us."
-Marianne Williamson
Being at the top is a lonely place to be. Because where is there to go beside down? And that is something Haru is always afraid as. I think she was well written and felt real. Wanting to be someone who doesn't shine on her own but be one that can lead others. Though that's something she had to grow as a character to find out.
She is one of my favorite character in the summer season. I really love her growth as she learns that you shine brightest when you give it your all and that you don't need to hide your light. As what good is a light if it is hidden? It serves no purpose.
So in the end, this anime, despite it's many melo-dramatic moments, I still really enjoyed it a lot. If I was to score it objectively? Probably lower, but I am rating this more on a pure enjoyment of the show and with that, I'll leave it as a 9/10 since I really loved this (objectively? Maybe a 7-8?). And Haru being the star she is, really carried this through to the end for me.

85/100Dream of becoming a shinepostContinue on AniListNote: This is not much of a review but instead my thoughts about the show.
It's been a while since I had an Idol show that captivated my interest since IDOLM@STER, Love Live, and 22/7. SHINE POST exceeded my expectation because at first glance it looks like a typical idol show about a girl wanting to prove more of herself to reach the top as an idol in showbiz with her group members, but it's much more than that.
Similarly to IDOLM@STER and 22/7, SHINE POST tackles the difficulty of being an idol in the Japanese music industry with realistic nuanced characters, perfecting crafts, studio struggles, and ways to grab an audience. What makes this show so special is that every character that was a part of the idol group had their arcs that made the personality and motive being their actions flow and connect the story even the side characters.
The show deals with an idol group called TINGS, and they are on the verge of disbandment but to prevent their group from breaking up they have to fill a venue of 2,000 audiences with their new managers.
Looking at the show I was much expected just cute girls singing and finding ways to build up their fanbase but instead the show deals with girls overcoming their insecurities, facing the music of addressing issues among members, and most of almost the members in the group had character development that was equally shared. For instance, the show delved into imposter syndrome and even the feeling of being the most unpopular member of the group. Unlike most idol shows, the girls in this anime felt realistic based on how most teenagers would behave by now on how they deal with their insecurities but giving faking their confidence or doing okay, which I enjoyed.
I think most people will appreciate this show because of the story but with the animation as well. For movement in dancing from the animation looked fluid. I love how in the beginning, the animation captures the group being out of sync but later is synced from the beautiful flow of the animation. Also, the songs are quite a bop.
Other than the show, my favorite member was of course HARU!!!!!!!
The fact that it was already shown that Haru was already talented, I loved how the show portrayed her kindness of character of not outshining the other members, and chronology enjoyed her development to the point I believe that she had one of the best arcs and the show.
Since SHINE POST is adapted from a light novel, I hope to see more seasons of the show if there is more source material from the light novel.
This show has the perfect blend of idol music and drama that I would highly recommend watching. I'll rate this anime an 8/10 only because of how Haru's story, in the end, tied the story together because there are certain characters in the group that I believe needs more development. Other than that I would recommend watching this anime if you are into idol shows.
