80/100Blurring the line between fiction and reality, and doing it wonderfully.Continue on AniList___Major Spoilers Ahead___ You won't understand a good chunk of my review if you haven't seen _Endo and Kobayashi_, so go give it a watch! I'll mostly be jumping from point to point about the series. Final ratings will be based on my overall enjoyment, as that’s what seals the deal for me. __Brief Synopsis__ Shihono Kobayashi is a high-schooler obsessed with an otome game known as _Love Me Magically!_ (or Magikoi for short). After convincing her broadcasting club friend, Aoto Endo, to play it with her, something about the game is.. different. They can speak to Prince Sieg and prevent Villainess Lieselotte from doom! Prince Siegwald... hearing things? No, it couldn't be... a message from the gods! He has to protect Lieselotte before it's too late? Well, it looks like he's got no other choice but to take their orders. Thanks Lady Kobayashi and Lord Endo! __Initial Thoughts__ Going into the show, I didn't have high hopes. Another Shojo adaptation is awesome! But considering what happened last season.. erm.. I was worried. I'm also not a huge fan of the Villainess genre... but putting my bias aside, this anime is definitely something that, while it has flaws, shouldn't be underestimated, and you'll see why. __The Meat of the Review__ Moving on from _trauma_, to something astoundingly better, the characters. Oh, how I loved the characters. And oh, how I loved their dynamics. At first, I wasn't really a huge fan of Lieselotte. She didn't seem to have many redeeming qualities, and that surprised me considering we are supposed to root for her, but then... we got to the Tsundere episode! This simple joke somehow ended up working completely in her favor! As the show progresses, we began to understand more about her character, why she says and does certain things, and most importantly, her motives. It adds a real layer of heart that I feel goes beyond the trope, and makes her really sympathetic. Not to mention her relationship with Sieg. I love how devoted and determined Sieg is to Liese, he truly is a W boyfriend that I wish I had. The romantic moments we get between them, especially towards the end, feel so sincere. Now let's talk Fiene! On her own, while she may seem weak, Fiene knows how to stand her ground and fight for what she believes in, and I really like that about her! She still has her flaws, but that's what makes her human. I also like how much backstory is given to her, and the connections she has with other characters really flesh her out. Fiene's more than just some rando who _happened_ to attend magic school. Her relationship with Baldur is.. a choice. I'm not a huge hater or anything, like I thought they were cute and all, but I wish there was at least a little more development. maybe I'm being too picky. I just think Fiene can get a better man. Putting that aside, Fiene is just one piece of the puzzle when it comes to the ending. And speaking of that ending, because wow. I really did not expect this show to end on such a bang. First of all, that drama and pacing! So good! The cliffhangers were effective and really left me wondering what was going to happen, because truly, I had no idea. I thought it was gonna be all one and done, "We saved Liese-tan, and life is perfect again!" (which still would've been solid, but I digress). But the way everything was connected, the fact that all that happened in the game AND in real life was because of the Gods of Creation? I mean, who could've guessed that! And this twist is not poorly executed at all. Long story short, Kuon, God of Creation, created the Magikoi game to finally fall in love with a reincarnated Eve, aka Fiene! But spoiler alert, a reincarnated Adam, aka Baldur, has already fallen in love with her. I mean, that's why the first people on earth were created, to fall in love. ~~it's adam and eve, not adam and steve!!! this a joke i promise i'm gay~~ So it's evident that Kuon has to lose, but for that to happen, we also get some changes between our wonderful commentary-analyst duo! Spoiler alert: after all their surprisingly deep development, they confess their love to each other. And while of course, it's very cheesy, it really helps to cement this story's theme. Love is powerful. For all we know, the world of Magikoi and its characters are completely fiction. But even so, it's the love the characters feel for one another that prevails. Whatever kind of love it may be, it all goes to show that with unity, heart, belief, and a little bit of magic, miracles can happen. Because you know what they say, while we may be different, we're all human. The same.

__Overall Thoughts__

_Endo and Kobayashi Live!_ is a series that turns the Villainess genre on its head, and does so in a well executed manner. With a unique premise and strongly developed cast, it's an anime that will not only keep you engaged, but also enamored.~~~
Unwelcome
70/100An anime that innovates with its proposal; the players break down barriers to interact with the inside-game characters.Continue on AniList※ : THINGS TO CONSIDER: ・ English is my second language, there may be errors in my grammar..
・I try to make a spoiler-free review, however, in the section opinion if something important happens I mention it.
・General experience ≠ Final score. My personal score is based in 5 star system, so I tried to put an accurate number here, but isn't always the case.
・Locate (Brief) Conclusion + Recommendation section where the main points are summarized.━━━━━━━ ⟡ ━━━━━━━ Experience with Tsundere Akuyaku Reijou Liselotte to Jikkyou no Endou-kun to Kaisetsu no Kobayashi-san ━━━━━━━ ⟡ ━━━━━━━ **Iɴᴛʀᴏᴅᴜᴄᴛɪᴏɴ** Kobayashi who participates in the radio fusion club alongside Endo, proposed him to play an Otome Game, in other words a dating-story target to women, however that doesn’t mean you can judge the game itself, encouraging him to be part of a story that will capture his heart for its characters and above all the tsundere villain showing her misunderstood sides.
At first he wasn’t convinced to be involved, but after testing the game he shared the same enthusiasm as her, using the instance to narrate the story by themselves, this caused to awaken a mysterious function that connects them with the characters of the game.
Now inside the game, the first Love Interest Sieg hears their voices causing to walks away from the game story line based on routes, thanks to them is able to see behinds the true personality of his fiancée who with harsh words hides her emotions. Is it possible that in this tragic story where the villain dies reach a happy ending? That will be something that Kobayashi and Endo will verified.
━━━━━━━ ⟡ ━━━━━━━ **Oᴘɪɴɪᴏɴ** A funny story that opens a world of possibilities, among them the villain has a happy ending, being a plot that has recently become popular to the point of becoming "generic", but don’t be disappointed, here the difference, who causes the changes are the "omnipresent" players who advise the male protagonist of the game. Thanks to their words he is able to see beyond the "tsundere" personality of the protagonist.
The interesting point of this anime is when the inside-game characters show their true personalities, leaving aside the written profile that characterizes them. You will find unusual changes of who will have the focus of the story, being those with little potential important part of the story.
This anime lead us to a end where everyting return to the normality, breaking the line between the fiction and reality. The explanation behind why Endo and Kobayashi can communicate with the game it’s weird and funny, this anime shows us some “deep” explanation that is not really that deep, however the positive side is that it's coherent, which is fundamental.
Respecting the composition series, there’s not much to say, it’s a pretty generic drawing that try to remains constant with its few action sequences that no exceed any expectation. There is potential to exploit, but they took the safe route of not risking so much, taking away the possible visual charm. Aside this aspect, the soundtrack it wasn’t memorable, because the lack of certain inspiration and vision to make the events meaningful, this sounds abstract but nothing terrible to ruin the tension of the moment.
━━━━━━━ ⟡ ━━━━━━━ **(ʙʀɪᴇғ) Cᴏɴᴄʟᴜsɪᴏɴ + Rᴇᴄᴏᴍᴍᴇɴᴅᴀᴛɪᴏɴ** Endo and Kobayashi Live! with a narrative guided by the main protagonists, they enrich the story, exposing a great dynamism together the striking characters inside-game, this whole set fills the gaps of the composition/animation that doesn’t exceed in any perspective.
On the whole, this was a peculiar seasonal anime that innovates with its proposal, because the changing plot of the game-story without having to "isekai" in the world itself, reconstructing the main story of the game along with the romantic life of their omnipresent protagonists, you will find an exciting story, that tries to break the tropes of generics.

97/100One of the highlights of this season, Liselotte is truly something I'll remember: where the 4th wall means nothingContinue on AniList__[SPOILERS ARE MARKED WITH TAGS]__ #__Overview__ I had no idea I’d end up enjoying it *this* much when I added it to my Planning. But from the beginning, I was hooked. It’s certainly one to remember and a great way to start diving into “otome game” anime. Endo and Kobayashi are a pair of highschoolers who are in the Broadcast Club and share a mutual interest: Magikoi (or the full title in English, Love Me Magically), a fantasy otome game. They like talking about it and playing it together. ~!~~(okay, fine, it’s really that Kobayashi loved it first and tried to get Endo into it, but I had to make the contrast more exciting)~~!~ It all seems perfectly normal, doesn’t it? Until one day, as they turn it on to play at Kobayashi’s house, something strange happens. *THE 4TH WALL IS BROKEN* Prince Sieg, one of the game’s characters, can suddenly hear their voices and thinks they are divine beings! With this in mind, Endo and Kobayashi decide to take advantage of this power and use it to steer sweet, tsundere Lieselotte (Sieg’s fiance, villainess of Magikoi, and the pair’s favorite character) away from her bad ending. How? By deciding to become Endo the Commentator and Kobayashi the Expert Analyst, of course! It’s evident early on that there’s a goal to achieve here, and not only do they accomplish it by the end of the anime, but there’s also a hidden twist to look forward to. Sorry, I made a no-spoiler policy some time ago, and I think it’s best you find out yourself instead of peeling open those spoiler tags. If you’re in the market for a good fantasy anime with plenty of romance, an otome game isekai (well, it’s somewhat an isekai but not fully under that definition), or some 4th wall destruction and tsundere ness, look no further. It’s definitely worth the hype. (I mean, it even managed to hook my mom about halfway in!) ~~this is where the pressure starts pushing as Camp Pressure-MMO-to-write-a-good-review-for-Lieselotte gives me intense stares to ensure I cover every single good point~~ #__The Good/Positive__ What’s the first thing you think about when you think of the show? That’s right, the title. The title that includes the words “tsundere villainess Lieselotte”. Lieselotte is truly a great character, worth that short description and more. Her tsundere ness can get quite adorable at times, and even more so when Sieg gets advised and expresses himself more visibly. Those couple moments can get really cute, ~~and cued internal Kobayashi~~ definitely enjoyable to watch, especially as their relationship progresses. On the topic of couples, Fiene and Bal were quite something as well. The contrast between their personalities is just as fun to see as Sieg and Lieselotte’s, what with Bal being so forward and Fiene, being, well, somewhat shy Fiene. It’s fairly obvious that Fiene and Bal aren’t the couple in center stage, but I was satisfied with the amount of screen time they did get. Points added. But before I move past this topic, Endo and Kobayashi were a good ~~unofficial for the most part~~ couple as well. Some of the parts I really enjoyed ~~and could relate to internally~~ were when Kobayashi got really excited about what was happening in the game. Other great moments were when During the cultural festival, when they did that commentary on the basketball game and those bits near the end, which are very spoiler heavy, so I’ll leave that to your imagination So yeah, those were some great characters and character interactions. I’m sure that was one of the main factors that made it popular. (actually, I don’t even know if it was popular or not, but I think it was) The plot was pretty linear at first: assemble your characters into a team and battle the final boss, don’t let Lieselotte die. Now, that twist near the end aside… The plot was nice and savory. Actually, it was more on the sweet side, what with Lieselotte’s tsundere ness and all. Again, minus that twisted bit, the plot was paced out perfectly. No rush, no fast pace, no filler episodes, and no snail bits. The plot weighs pretty heavily for me, whenever I decide if a show was good or not. Points added. That should be enough good points, no? I shouldn’t drag on too long, wasted enough time as is already when posting this review. Time for the negatives… #__The Bad/Negative__ The most noticeable thing that every Lieselotte fan would agree on is: the poor animation. It’s sad but true. The characters were amazing, the plot carried well, But the animation/art style quality was undeserved T-T It was one of the first things I noticed, ngl. Ofc, the rest of the anime made up for that. It just goes to show that life is a series of give and take. Better that the looks are where everything goes wrong than one of the more vital aspects… Now, I’ll try my best not to spoil, because this review should be a thorough analysis of my thoughts, and not including this next topic would be a half-baked job. I will try not to spoil too much, but you have been warned… Read at your own risk, if you click this spoiler tag. Or you can move on to the next section. __SPOILERS__ That twist at the end, the part where they suddenly brought Kuon in, felt kind of rushed in my opinion. It’s like, you’re walking at a nice, steady, reasonable pace, and then you suddenly run. Adding an episode 13 and stretching it a little may have helped (and this is not my way of mourning that it ended). I know that they had to put in that twist somewhere, but it could’ve been a bit better paced. Otherwise, it was a pretty good ending. That smaller Kobayashi twist inside of the huge plot twist was a bit sudden… Still worth me saying “This plot is more twisted than a German pretzel!” Phew, now that I’ve got that over with… Time for the last section and to finally post this review and get it over with. My next one should not be waiting this long. #__Do I Recommend?__ Yes. 100% would recommend watching. ~~not just because that camp would kill me if I didn’t say that~~ It’s pretty unfair to just say yes without providing reason, so… If you like the following: - cute tsundere women/girls - otome game anime - Harry Potter and Hogwarts style settings (ngl) - decent attention for ALL the couples in a romance anime - laughing or fangirling/equivalent Then you will enjoy this show! (for anyone who cares…this show hooked in the ~~infamous~~ Momtaku)
