__"On that note, have you ever thought of yourself as the protagonist of a story? You do not need to have much conviction about it, but have you ever, at least once, thought of yourself as an existence somewhere in an enormous story? Too predestined to be just a chance, too inevitable to be just an incident, too karmic to be just a coincidence, too fated to be just an accident, anything, anytime, anywhere, when something abnormal occurred around you, having thought that, have you never ended up thinking that?"__ __"Each and every person has a predefined role. There is no pointless person, everyone is a cog for the world. Even the tragic cog just spinning in place in a completely meaningless location, even such hollowness greatly affects its surroundings"__ At the very beginning, the story puts us into this tricky dilemma of fate and immortality, where one must question if the life they have been living is some kind of predestined, harmonised story or some kind of simulated world where no matter the resistance, the result always standouts the same. And if such a story exists, is it possible for someone to break outside of it? And if one ables to do so, if one has already conquered their fate, then aren't they logically dead? And if they're still alive and breathing, it won't be a far-fetched idea to call them immortal. Such is the absurd logic of this book which is pushed to its extremity by its flashy cast of characters.
ii talks with two such people who have broken the logical confinements of life and are existing out of the harmony of the world and are isolated to the point one can call them dead.
He ponders if fate truly exists, then he would be the same pathetic guy no matter how much he tries to change or run away from it. Lots of people around him have died, and this won't change no matter how much he tries. Opposing destiny is meaningless, as doing so will throw one out of the very system of the world. This situation once again puts him in a state of confusion.Further down into the story, the tragedy of the laboratory proves to be ii's breaking point. His presence has been deemed as the one who indirectly kills just by existing and it continues to be so. Once again he has killed those close to him. He might as well commit suicide. But he's far too frail for that. He makes a deliberate attempt to flee the crime scene and, ultimately, his fated role. He is a cog—a mediocre detective, and his job is to observe and solve each murder mystery he encounters. But he's grown tired of it now. He does not want anyone to be harmed. He doesn't want to hurt himself. People die all around him; he is, after all, the detective in this story. But he is sick of this role. He doesn't want the people around him to die. He is fed up with his own fate. He is tired of playing his part in this story. Aimlessly floating in a sea of isolation. Like an aimless equation. Running away from fate. Declining the death. Like a living corpse. Alive, but dead. Damaged good. He should just die and disappear.
"....Miiko-san"
I touched my cheek.
It was wet and sticky with blood.
"I….have found something to do"
"Is that so?"
"Something I have to do"
"Is that so?"
Miiko-san gave a small nod.__"I was the weakest, so I was the strongest. I was the strongest, so I was the weakest."__ But after his heated argument with Miiko, he realises something insignificant but crucial. All of his friends and all of the bonds he had formed were the result of his tragic fate. He didn't have to change his fate, nor did he have to flee from it. He had to confront and face it. He had no choice but to accept his fate. All of the tragic events of the past may have rendered him humanity's weakest, but they also provided him with the strength to stand alongside humanity's strongest.
__"I don’t even know if I’m alive or dead. Vague and unclear, half-assed and hazy, not choosing anything and letting myself go along with other people, I led an uncertain life without deciding, that’s why-- “....I don’t want to die-----” Like that. I realized that I wanted to live. I learned at what moments I cried"__ In all of this nonsense of fate and death, ii is the one who has finally affirmed his place in the world. It could be the same as before, or it could be different. People around ii may or may not die. But he has made the decision to move forward. He is finally maturing. He is gradually gaining an understanding of others. He is learning not to betray his friends. He is learning not to injure himself.
He is still alive because he does not want to die. Because he cried, he is still alive.

There are many strange and quirky people in the world who compromise their uniqueness in order to fit in with social groups. I believe that the rules and social norms set by society or a community mitigate the individuality. Zaregoto is a story about such oddballs and their place in society. If they want to change just to fit in with the surroundings, that depends whether they find their own answers to a question.
Essentially, people live in one of two ways. Either they live in awareness of their own worthlessness, or they live in awareness of the worthlessness of the world. Two ways. Either you allow your value to be absorbed by the world, or you chisel away at the world’s value and make it your own. Which should take precedence, the value of the world or your own value?Akameg4k1ll

BEFORE I BEGIN I WANT TO REMEMBER THAT THE FOLLOWING REVIEW DOES NOT CONTAIN SPOILERS OF ANY KIND SO ANYONE CAN READ IT.
What can we say, we have now passed the halfway point and we are actually in a watershed volume, which divides the entire first part made up of volumes 1 to 5 which are essentially a setting for what must happen, a mere presentation of the characters, therefore, in short, a prologue .
But with this sixth volume we really get to the heart of the story with one of the biggest traumas that the protagonist could suffer as far as I'm concerned, but not only as the one who will act as the main antagonist of the story will even be introduced, and despite saying little already becomes one of the most enigmatic characters.
After making a short presentation, I wish you a good reading and don't hesitate to leave a little encouragement like ;)Summary
Having come in contact with a researcher who tries to find out how to "not die" and so how to become immortal, our protagonist will find himself entangled in one of the most tragic situations of the whole novel; but before that happens he meets a girl in a straitjacket, brought home by a self-styled nymphomaniac scientist.....
General plot
At this turn, the plot leaves you completely stunned as it is much more eventful than the previous volumes, starting immediately in fourth gear and not stopping going up until you reach the final peak where everything goes down and returns to calm, as if those clear and simple last words of the protagonist flattened all as if to finish the symphony with descending sounds.... in short, the concept was understood.
In addition to the incredible narrative pace, this time even the characters inserted are very captivating, not that the previous ones weren't, but with the Niounomiya brothers you reach other levels.
Not to mention the protagonist who here more than in other volumes expresses his conflicting feelings in a strong and rightly furious way due to the incredible and as usual totally unexpected twist that really leaves you speechless.
Although this is the physically more substantial novel it finally turns out to be one of the fastest ones to read so it is really difficult to find real defects (if there are any).Characters

More than her I found his brother really interesting cause he complete his sister and protect her also if she doesn’t know. This love for his sister is the thing that help him to maintain the balance and the only thing that he want for real is to make sure that her sister will find a friend so letting her living a “normal life”. The thing that I really found interesting of these characters is the fact that when they born only Izumu was needed and Rizumu only existed to balance Izumu and this fact makes him very mad because he couldn’t accept that his sister is useless. __Ii-chan__ The absolute protagonist of this part of the series we find a protagonist who, following a certain event, will find himself completely defeated by his life. If before we had a clear and progressive improvement now we have a total decline until we return to how it was before the events narrated, this derives from the fact that what happened resulted for him as a defeat, as if it were the world itself that was demonstrating that a rose born as such can never aspire to be anything else. And in all this context he abandons himself completely in the hands of he knows who will accept and support him, indeed saying so would be wrong because Kunagisa does not want to support the protagonist but simply wants to love him and therefore it is convenient for her that he remains helpless and does not try to improve as a human being, so he will necessarily have to find refuge with her. Also because of this extreme disturbance of the protagonist this volume is a very important keystone for the entire work as he himself will have an awakening in the end that will bring him a resolution to avenge the wrong suffered and to be able to give meaning to life that a certain person has lived through and tried to change. __Miiko__ Already presented in previous volumes here she plays a main role as a figure who saves the protagonist from oblivion. The protagonist is attracted to her and is even in love with her but unfortunately it is difficult for the two to be together and the justification provided is promptly thorough and consistent with the character design that has been provided to us. I'd like to go into a lot more but unfortunately I want this review to be read by those who haven't actually read the books, so to close this speech of the love story I'll just say that their couple would have prevented both of them from growing. Although he is not one of the leading characters in the series, he is still very interesting because she has managed to understand that being with others prevents him from improving and keeps them weak, but the interesting thing about all this talk of his is not so much the content as the how this girl managed to be honest and psychoanalyze herself. Would she have been good with the protagonist? Did you like the main character? The answer is probably yes, but she knew how to sacrifice herself and choose her good because she knew he was getting better and couldn't bear the breakdown she was having. __Takashi Saitou__ BOOOOOOOH that's what I think after knowing what he fears as the great villain of the series. I really have no idea because he is an all too mysterious character, we do not know his objective or his past, we only know that once he wanted to study how to "not die" but perhaps it is precisely this state of confusion in which we are catapulted that makes this such a mysterious and alienating character, definitely a very interesting villain with potential. __Ichihime Yukariki__ Well what about an incredible sadness, not only for us but also for the protagonist because as perhaps already mentioned she represented a sort of experiment for the protagonist, an experiment to understand if a person could actually change and improve himself. Failed this experiment not only suffers for the person but also suffers because she believes that even for him there is no hope. Eventually she gave in to her instincts, which proved fatal.
>___Conclusions___ To conclude I would like to make some considerations about the book, I found it really beautiful and it is from here that the series goes from a thriller to a pure action. it is a real turning point that we readers feel, but also the protagonist because the story changes both for us and for him, who just like in the film "The Last Temptation of Christ" must pass one last great test, the harder! Above all, the relationships as they are now are outlined to make a kind of summary of everything that has been up to now, this is a symptom of the fact that the final is upon us and now there is the showdown. P.S. I was very shitty when that plot twist happened and I really shit myself....
~~~
