  My trash taste and love for Spy Classroom

  Look, I'll just put this here to make my review make sense. I personally think, this anime objectively is average at best. Now with that being said, I love it, because of it's characters, they slowly grew on me. I could careless if you disagree with me, I wanted to leave a positive review for this show. It's one of those anime you are aware it's trash but you for some reason enjoy it. Sometimes we don't need to find a reason to enjoy what we enjoy, we don't need to please others. And at first, I watched season 1 because I wanted to just laugh at how bad it was... but slowly I noticed myself starting to care about these girls. Largely due to the fact that Grete arc at the end of season 1 was awesome! It's mainly her whole character development made me love it a lot. I'm also glad to see each of the girls get some screen time and I was happy to see two season. Since season 1 focused on half the girls, while the others were more sideline and the second season gave a chance for the other girls to shine. So, I think it was a nice balance of screen time for them all. Given, some I feel like were under used still. And some who I didn't really like in season 1 became some of my favorites in season 2. Spy Classroom isn't anything unique in premise wise, it's really straight forward with the whole cat and mouse theme of spy vs spy. It's not great like Spy X Family in the sense of capturing family and teamwork. And having both a OP main character at his job. But for what Spy Classroom is, it was entertaining. Now I don't get why you would watch season 2 if you hated season 1. So, for those who did enjoy the first season, season 2 is basically the same premise again, nothing really new. It just focus on the other half of the girls, so, if you were curious to know more about them, check it out. So, let's go talk about the characters, the reason why I love this show despite all it's poor writing. Sorry I'll be referring to the names given to them instead of their real name that you see on AL when you look at characters. You'll have to click on them to know the names here. --- __Lily - Code Name: Flower Garden__ You can throw a seed out because it's a reject, but even so, it will find a way to bloom too become a beautiful garden. Life will find a way to survive, as long as it has the right environment, it will thrive. And we see this is true with the leader of the Lamplight. A group full of rejects, but together under the care of Klaus, the team becomes stronger. Personally at times I find her kind of annoying, I think it's just that high pitch voice she does. I find it kind of more annoying then it coming off as cute. Though, I do respect her personality, where she is always upbeat and is the one who truly lights up the team. Second to last, at 7th place. --- __Grete - Code Name: Daughter Dearest - My Favorite Girl__ I won't spoil too much about her, but as someone who hated themselves because of physical things they cannot change, I understood how she felt. That insecurity you feel, believing you aren't ever good enough to be loved because of your flaws. But these are all superstitious and lies we tell ourselves or lies we believe from others. Rejected by her family, rejected by others, she found the one person who called her beautiful and that was all the confident she needed to grow. (I don't want to spoil what I mean by all this but her ability is to disguise herself. It's kind of her trying to hide the real her but in the end, she is the most true to herself by the end of the series to her feelings as well.) When we make that connection with someone, their dream can become our dream. We will be willing to follow them and believe in them, because of the worth we see ourselves in their eyes. And though she does follow after a dream of being with the Boss, she is what I would consider the heart of the team. I feel like at times she is more of the background leader, the one who is the most like a mom. The most beautiful character in the show. --- __Sibylla - Code Name: Pandemonium__ Sadly the one I know the least about, I don't have much to say about her. I hate that she looks exactly like Monika and for the longest time I was confused on who was who. I mean look alike as in they have almost the same hair color, so it was really confusing in season 1. Hopefully season 3 so, she can have some more screen time. Sadly she gets place last at 8th, :( since least screen time. --- __Monika - Code Name: Glint__ I still wonder who she's in love with in the lamplight. Since we know she's secretly in love with one of the other girls, but we don't know which one. Anyways, she is easily the strongest of the spies. She unlike the rest of the dropout who weren't good enough, she choose to quit. It was not she was not good enough, it was just out of having no more motivation. We got to see her more in season 2, the one who is most stubborn but can carry out a solo mission if need be. But a hopeless romantic as well, I know your pain. Wanting to protect the person you love without telling them, just by being part of their team, so you can watch over them and help them in their time of need. I hope she find happiness, you grew to become number 2 in my favorites out of all the girls here. --- __Thea - Code Name: Dreamspeaker__ Best thing about her is her character design lol... jk apart from that, she is someone who I don't know how I feel about her as a character. Part of me likes her but part of me kind just think she's kind of dumb at times. Since she can manipulate others but at the same time got tricked the most out of everyone... so, she is a conflicting character. I guess good thing she has a nice figure lol... how she can use that to her advantage. As they say in Grand Blue, "NICE BODY" lol Number 6th overall, since she did have that kiss with Monika lol... it was a smart move --- __Sara - Code Name: Meadow__ Probably the sweet heart of the group. I really like her character just base on her personality. One, she loves animals, which I do as well. And two, she is always really kind to everyone. The one that seems to cause the least trouble and often is really soft spoken. There's nothing to hate about her but someone you just enjoy having around. Her presence is a delight to have, someone I would love to have as friend. You know she will have the interest of others first. So, I have nothing but respect for her character. Number 4 favorite girl. --- __Annette - Code Name: Forgetter__ Ah yes the trouble maker of the group. The one who's always blowing things up, she could've easily become my favorite. Why my friends won't invite me back to playing minecraft with them. I can relate to her, she is funny and cute. And what makes her shine the most is her adorable friendship with the last girl on this list (Erna). At first I thought she was just some annoying kid who doesn't seem to think things through at all. Kind of just does thing in the spur of the moment but at we see in season 2, she is really well aware of her surrounding. Despite sometimes causing the most friendly fire... poor Erna. I think season 2 gave her a great arc to become a more interesting character. I slowly enjoyed her more and more. Despite being like Lily where they both have a high pitch voice, I think hers was less annoying, since it matched the role or character she played more. Don't worry Annette, even though you forget things easily, I didn't forget you, Number 3. --- __Erna - Code Name: Fool__ Last but not least, the last one that was introduced to the team. The one that seems to have the worst of luck but turns out to be the lucky charm of the group. Voice by the beautiful Inori, with her soft voice as always, I can't help but always love these roles she voices. Anyways, despite thinking destruction and chaos follows her only, she doesn't realized her worth until way later on. Slowly learning her value and place among the team. Being a cute little sister the team. And playing such a key role in their survival in season 1. I don't have much to say about her beside someone who was down and out but slowly building more confidence as she advices forward. Even if you face some hardship, don't forget to count your blessings. Last to be introduced but not last on my favorite girl as she falls in number 5. I don't have much say about Klaus beside he's your typical great teacher in anime and super op. There's not much I want to say about him beside, I enjoyed him. I totally ship him with my favorite girl (Grete). I think their moments together are often the best part of the show. The only one he can let his guard down to be around with. So, thanks for whoever even bothered to read this all, because I figure I'll write a more positive review. Funny how this will be my last review for a while. I used to write more negative reviews back in the past but I want to change that, I want to just focus on sharing more positive thoughts when I write whole reviews like this. So, if you enjoy it as well, I'm glad. It's not a great show nor is it special to me, it's just something that I ended up growing to enjoy a lot. And I figure why not write a random review like this, since I rarely ever write reviews for anime I don't are really great in a obj view, but anime is really in the end... just base on your subj thought.
