DESCRIPTION
The second cour of Mushoku Tensei II: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu.
Following the faceless god Hitogami's advice seems to have worked wonders for Rudeus Greyrat. After enrolling into the University of Magic as he was told, Rudeus reunites with his childhood friend Sylphiette, who put a valiant effort into curing his condition. The two grow ever closer together and decide to host a wedding party, inviting the friends they have made over the years to announce and formalize their relationship.
For all his recent blessings, however, Rudeus' troubles are far from over. The research he is helping Shizuka Nanahoshi conduct hits a bottleneck, sending her into a deep slump much like he experienced in his previous life. Furthermore, a letter from his father, Paul, brings complications to Rudeus' relationships, and Sylphiette still knows next to nothing about his real background. In the face of these issues, Rudeus will have to apply the lessons he has learned in this new world to navigate through the challenges that come with living a life to its fullest.

55/100Just a male power fantasy full of pedo dreams and poorly-written drama to justify adultery.Continue on AniListThe past 2 seasons forgot about the fantasy and magic bits of the series to revolve around the sexual life of our main character.
Don't get me wrong, his hardships about his trauma (Too much with importance and gags of the ED, but its ok), past life, his family and sisters are amazing and feels deep, but that's it.Sylphie suddenly became like a "perfect housewife", she does ALL the fcking chores just because Rudy is "busy". But let's remember that she has a LITERAL JOB outside the classes, while he's just researching something along some colleages, so actually he doesn't do much. The perfect life if you forget about your wife's life and emotions, and thats how Sylphie evolved to, to a lifeless, emotionless girl who just smile and cares for his husband while he away doing other shits instead of helping (everyone wants a lovely wife without involving too much of your life on it huh?)
And that's just Syphie. Every single other women on this season becomes like an object. Useless, helpless girls that needs a man to give a meaning to their lives.
Now, Major Spoilers:
The little sisters: Ok I love them. The dynamic they have with the MC is amazing, and the "hikikomori" part again feels deep and hard. I loved how it went, that's why I feel more frustrated with how everything goes, because after all of that battle, suddenly everything goes perfectly for Rudy. His sisters are still a mess, because they are just children, but for whatever reason they are able to forget and forgive Rudy easily. But the two have a toxic relationship between sisters, and for whatever reason it doesn't matter (I still hope we see something about it later on). So, those two pre-teens are acting somewhat like adults in some forms, or like background characters. C'mon, it isn't normal for a child to work the house, and most when the husband doesn't even help! School isn't just about learning the books! It gives experiences and let's us develop as grown adults. But I guess that's something a grown adult realizes.
Anyway, at this point Sylphie and her life with the siblings doesn't matter and became part of the background, the housewife that provides support, maintains the house, care for the siblings... and doesn't show any emotion outside happines... No sadness, no angriness...nothing, like the other women in Rudeus life tbh.
But it doesn't matter, because she already fulfilled her role by doing so as she was used for Rudy development, same with the sisters. So now it's turn for the God to appear (I love him, best part of the series).
Going short on this part: Everything goes fine (apart from Rudy literally abandoning his pregnant wife for a couple of months but yeah, it makes sense and he can be forgiven) till Roxy appears. What the heck happened here. Roxy was an adult that were struggling with adult's life, but suddenly she acts as she looks: like a literal child and it doesn't make anysense...Roxy, the master of Rudeus, his teacher, the adult woman that helped raise and teach him the way of life, helped him overcome his agoraphobia and educated him on the ways of magic, suddenly acts like a pre-teen in love with someone older than her...? What? Why? I'll tell you why.
It's because of Male Power Fantasy. And that's it.
You've seen that in other anime like, "suddenly owning female sexy slaves is morally good (keep in mind the word "Owning", not "Freeing")" and things like that. This time, the sexual fantasy is both common in japan: I like my teacher and I like that child.
So yeah, it's just preparing the terrain so Roxy just straight out fucks our Main Character. It was kinda ok with Sylphie... don't get me wrong, it feels weird because our MC have +34 years old as age isn't only about body and looks, but about personal experiences and state of life. Rudeus was never a child, because he already was older, that's why his mind was like that of a genius.
So now, after our adult MC married a child-looking teenager, we have a pre-teen looking and acting child in love with him.
Everything is wrong with that. We literally see a child acting unholy with the MC in a bed, the kiss, everything, but is wrong for both of them! Pedo x Pedo relationship! I'm kinda fine with Elinalise because an Elf has a long lifetime so blah blah blah, but is still an adult with a teen.So yeah... At this point, every single relationship we see is pedo nourishment. Even Badigadi is going out with a 4 yo looking girl. At least that's not sexual... but c'mon... This is wild...
Anyway, this season looked good, like the first half of the second act about to finish, but suddenly is about sex, and bad written romance, and infidelity... idk but i felt like the main issue about saving Rudeus mother isn't as important.
And what was that about "your mom was ok with infidelity at the end, so your wife will be ok too"? Guys, that's not how relationships works, ok? Every human being has different oppinions and feelings on the same issue. Zenith were ok with Lillia because both girls were close already, but not this time!
This hurts me the most, because I was in love with this series. From the first episode of the first season, I read the manga, and were expecting more...but yeah, magic isn't as important as before, the world seems empty, every character suddenly went stupid and useless, except the guys of course, who suddenly went full throttle to be cool.
I don't know much about the author, but someone should check their hard drive and internet browser. So here's the full points:

90/100Truly a peak isekai that excels through beautifully organized writing without the need of superb execution.Continue on AniListThis review contains MAJOR SPOILERS for Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Part 2
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺Before we begin the review... # __Mushoku Tensei is ART you philstines.__ With a brand new season 3 on the way, I'd like to take a moment to write about this shocker of a season. Frankly put, the first part of Season 2 made it exceedingly obvious how much the quality had dropped compared to the beautiful world displayed back in Season 1. There was no direction and the pacing was pretty poor, so it was natural for me to not be expecting much, yet ... here we are. Even without some of the key animators of Studio Bind being involved in the production, this part of the series established itself as an S-tier seasonal anime with pure writing and directing. Props to Ryousuke Shibuya for that one.
Episode 3: Afar
Episode 3 was the first episode that provided me with a grain of hope. A single episode dedicated to Nanahoshi Shizuka and her longing to return home. Her grim facial expression and amazing voice acting made us as viewers wonder how we would be doing if put in her position. Quite specifically, the scene where she freaks out and displays her mental instability reminded me of the voice actor's prior performance as Takina Inoue in Lycoris Recoil. As the icing on the cake, the anime surprised us with a one-time special ED sung by Shion Wakayama herself, which instantly became one of my favourites.
Then, shortly after, they just decide to hit us with one of the best episodes of the series as a whole. Good enough that it is easily on par with some of the best episodes of S1.
Episode 5: My Older Brother's Feelings
Episode 5 was peak. So much of Rudeus's character derives from painful experiences in his previous life, so we knew it wouldn't sit right with him if someone he knew was going through the same pain. We could clearly see that he was anxious and not calm enough. He found out that his sister was on her way to becoming a shut-in and if that wasn't bad enough, he had been the reason for it. This feeling of guilt and pure empathy led to him confronting Norn directly, which resulted in one of the most heartfelt moments in the entire series. Norn, for the first time ever, questioned her feelings towards her own brother and opened up to him. And then, guess what? They absolutely deliver by finishing the episode off with Rudeus's words to his irl (irl definitely makes sense) brother: "Sorry. And thank you".
Not enough? How about a major plot development?
Episode 6-9
That's right! Turning Point 3 in the next episode, making us feel the weight of a heavy decision that has consequences regardless of the path. Rudeus begins his journey to Rapan, where we suddenly realize that Peak Isekai had come back. Why? WORLD-BUILDING, ACTION SEQUENCES. We faithful fans had at last escaped Ranoa. A sudden surge of nostalgia and love tickles our nerves as we once again feast our eyes upon actual combat, adventure, and all too familiar characters. Paul, Geese, Talhand, Lilia and best girl Roxy all making a fresh appearance. Just when you're having the time of your life watching hilarious interactions between Paul and Rudy, the obvious romance blossoming around him and Roxy, father's day had arrived.
Episode 10: Parents
After countless foreshadowings both in the OP song and right before the incident, Mushoku Tensei proved to us that Gojo could be found in every anime. And if you didn't know, they purposefully waited a week to release Episode 10 on father's day. Absolutely foul. Paul was dead and we had lost a scumbag person, but a great father. Istg, they still don't miss when it comes to the final minutes of an episode. As if Paul's death wasn't bad enough, we are introduced to a vegetable-Zenith's current state. PAINNN. Also, the animation in the fight against the Hydra was surprsingly well-done and fluid. Hopefully, it gets even better now that key animators are supposedly returning from a project.
Episode 11 = SeggsEpisode 12: Succession
A few hours ago the season finale aired and it is really put into light how much characters had grown.
Even though Norn was incredibly saddened after hearing the news, she tried her best to think rationally and eventually came to the understanding that her brother had given it his all and that she couldn't blame him. Her anger with the Roxy situation can be justified too because she's a Millis follower and she had also seen up close just how devoted and loving Sylphie was.
Sylphie's maturity was apparent both physically and mentally. She had grown her hair out and exerted an air of confidence, unlike before. She handled the situation maturely and finally gained the achievement of 'Actually being in the conversation for best girl'.
I don't even think I need to talk about Rudeus. Hate him all you want, but his progression is top tier.Soooooooooo
In conclusion, this excels and can be considered top tier in aspects such as Action, Drama, Character complexity, Plot, World-building, Beauty, Character development and Emotions. This was my first time writing a review, so I'll be expecting your helpful feedbacks.

15/100Left A Gross Taste In My MouthContinue on AniListThis Review Contains Spoilers
The first season pushed Mushoku Tensei into my top 10 anime of all time, the second season however pulled the series out and left me with a sour taste in my mouth.
All of the negative traits you can attribute to Rudy in the first season, most notably his perversion, became less overriding aspects of his character as he grew and experienced more of his second life. When he was reborn into this world, he was the same timid pervert that he was in the previous. As the season went on, you saw Rudy shed more and more of that person he once was as he became more confident and respectful. At the end of the first season when Eris approached Rudy in his tent to sleep with him, Rudy did not jump at the opportunity as the Rudy of a couple years earlier surely would have. Actually, Rudy thought that he would be taking advantage of her in that moment and practically said no despite wanting to just go along with it. Rudy progressed as a person along his journey, culminating in this moment. Rudy changed. Seemingly.I do not know what happened with Season 2. The core motivating factor in the first half was curing Rudy's erectile dysfunction. Not only was this the inciting incident that got Rudy to the university in the first place, but it really was the most important thing to Rudy for this whole half of the season. The audience had just seen Rudy turn down the chance to have sex for the first time in his life during the climax of Season 1. Now the entirety of Rudy's being is based around getting a boner again? This absurd premise was not even explored in an interesting way. I would be more open to it if the season had Rudy exploring what it meant to be a man, perhaps learning you don't need to perform sexually to be a confident and upstanding man in this world. However every single guy that he spoke to about his erectile dysfunction reaffirmed how important it was to solve the issue. I don't understand how this could make for a compelling story or character arc. Rudy has regressed, now sex is the most important thing in his life even more so than it was in the past. This regression and emphasis on sex would be less of a betrayal of season 1 if the story did not reward Rudy for his perversion, yet it does every step of the way this season. But I would not have such a strong dislike for this season if it was only the immature erectile dysfunction part.
By far the biggest issue I have with season 2 came more notably in the second half. The female characters are written as if they're practically groveling at the feet of Rudy and men in general, it's honestly weird as fuck.
- Rudy's half sister was seemingly born to be his maid. She does not attend school alongside her sister, she just does chores around the house in her maid outfit. She even felt like she needed permission to speak or show emotion when she was reunited with her mom.
- Roxy explained that she had sex with Rudy to make HIM feel better, stating she couldn't stand by while he was depressed. I understand that she wanted to just have sex with him as well but Roxy explained her reasoning being since Sylphie wasn't there to make him feel better herself, someone else had to, so she performed that job. Is the logic that when men are depressed, women who care about them should sleep with them to make them feel better? It would honestly be better if she just took advantage of his depressive state simply for herself and they both had to face the consequences. However there are none and this is just very weird reasoning to sleep with someone let alone someone who's married.
- Sylphie does not care in the slightest that Rudy just cheated on her while she was pregnant, in fact she appeared overjoyed. Sylphie thought it was great cause Roxie did it to "help" Rudy. I have nothing against polyamorous relationships but it seems pretty clear the Sylphie did not give Rudy the green light to just sleep with other women, Sylphie just figured he would on his own cause he's such a perv. How does that make this better? Sylphie lets Rudy do whatever he wants because she thinks he's amazing.
- The little slave girl Julie that Rudy still owns, who he didn't just free and hire. Rudy first heard about the slave market from Sylphie who was noticeably uncomfortable telling him about it but Rudy's reaction was just "ahh I haven't thought about getting a slave, I'll visit as soon as I can!". Then we see Rudy just jolly as can be browsing for slaves. Rudy is not just someone who is a product of their time, he is someone from our modern world happily looking around the slave market. I don't want Rudy to come up with a plan to heroically free all the slaves but like at least think the slave market is fucked up? Everyone watching this should view his behavior as actually disgusting, and we're supposed to feel empathy for him at any point after this? Finally when Rudy spoke to the girl and we heard his inner monologue, which seems like Rudy comes off as a good guy and he's empathetic for her but if you think about it he's still a deplorable person. Rudy could have told the girl he will treat her well, that he understands while she's been through incredible pain that he will free her and do what he can to make her see the value in life but if she chooses to he can end it for her as well. But no, Rudy just tells her he has something for her to do then when she doesn't respond he asks if she wants to die. The way its depicted makes you believe if she answered yes he would kill her on the spot.
- The two beast girls tend to Rudy's perverted nature while serving him and calling him master. I don't need to explain this point further it's the most blatant example and on its own sure it's not even that bad, we see anime throw in unnecessary stuff like this all the time. I have more of an issue with the other examples because they are not treated as simple fan service moments but rather actual parts of the narrative.
None of the examples I listed seem like nitpicks to me, these are fundamental parts of the story that come off as super weird because they are. I don't need Rudy to be a morally incorruptible character, it can be very interesting to have your protagonist be a shitty person. But the world around Rudy also caters to his shitty nature and THAT is what makes it gross. I can definitely say I'm not into the whole "harem" genre but if it's for stupid fun then sure do whatever. To sum it up, what makes Mushoku Tensei worse to me is it masquerades as something deeper while containing the same weird sexual fantasy stuff.
Also there was a big step back from the world building and magic in general that I thought made season 1 pretty cool.If you agree, disagree, let me hear! Please write a post on my profile right under "activity", I wish reviews had a comment section but that's as good as it gets right now.
Thanks for reading.
