  One of my favourite short series!

  [I'll be talking about some of the things Seki does, so I guess those are spoilers!]()

  
  

  [PREMISE OF THE SHOW:]()
  The manga focuses on 2 characters, Seki and Yokoi.

  Seki doesn't like paying attention in class and thus goes ahead and creates many crazy things as to distract him from his school responsibilites. Yokoi sits beside Seki, she constantly sees all of these inventions, she wants to ignore what he is doing but always ends up paying attention and even participates in them causing her to be in trouble from the teacher and not Seki-kun.

  All of the things Seki makes are top quality to be honest, from making little golf matches to making a dramatic sequence with shogi pieces and lastly to making his own postal service. This lad would excel in Factorio and Oxygen not Included.

  Every episodes feels fresh and unique, well due to the fact that each one has new thing to showcase. But nonetheless I didn't get bored of the what basically is the same formula.

  

  
  

  [CHARACTERS:]()
  Seki - The engineer, he carefully crafts his works. He does the impossible, he goes as far as to make his own postal service in the class which has proper schedules for deliveries and such. This lad right here is going places.

  Yokoi - She wants to ignore Seki, but Seki is just too powerful to be ignored by a mere mortal. Her paying attention to Seki's invetion often leads her to getting in trouble by the teacher.

  

  
  

  [ART/ANIMATION:]()
  The animation is great smooth and fluid most of the time, mostly when an invention is being presented.
  The art style is...well I would have to call it so-so, its not bad! But just nothing too new that brings attention, sadly. But despite that fact the show is still great to watch.

  The OP is great, KanaHana rapping is always a brilliant thing to hear.
  The ED is a straight up banger, so catchy. There even is a video of behind the scenes on how they got the sounds of the school equipment which is neat.

  Tonari no Seki-kun has to be one of my favourite short series, the comedy is amazing, the little crafts Seki makes are really detailed and well thought out. Great lil series.

  One Of My Favorite Anime

  I started watching the show because one of my friends(who doesn't watch anime) recommended it to me. And soon the show skyrocketed to be one of my favorites. I might talk about a few scenes in particular, so if you haven't watched the show yet. SPOILERS!

  The show literally only revolves around two characters Seki and Yokoi.
  Seki who never pays attention in class always ends up playing with stuff or making new and creative inventions. Yokoi who is his bench neighbor tries to ignore him and always fails. Eventually gets in trouble for it.

  

  each episode is a standalone episode where Seki Kun comes up with a new way to pass his time during the class. and Yokoi reluctantly joins him in his fun.

  I absolutely love Seki Kun's expressions how he is always impressed by his creativity and proud of it.

  what makes it even better is yokoi's reaction to it and her inner monologue to his mischief. I love the episode involving the robot family. whenver there is some drill seki kun takes those drills lightly. but in contrast, the robots will be performing the drills seriously. which is obviously orchestrated by none other than seki kun. And the robotto kazoku song is sooo cute and catchy. I love how yokoi and seki kun never had to communicate verbally throughout the show but the expressions they give to each other are priceless. they scold each other just by the looks . The real question is how Seki is able to keep so many things in a school bag without running out of space or getting caught. Like a whole-arse firecracker is inside of his bag. and if you are watching it, i urge you not to skip [opening](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBaTMEAe6bc) and the [ending ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIKB7i6fcmk). The song is really catchy, and the video is just a smaller version of a episode, and with so much charm. Most creative opening and ending for a very creative show. And as a person who is so much into knowing who the seiyuu is I was delighted to know that yokoi is voiced by Kana Hanazawa who also voices kanroji mitsuri in kimetsu no yaiba. Seki kun is voiced by Hiro Shimono who also voiced zenitsu agatsuma in kimetsu no Yaiba. my only complain is that the anime and manga are in hiatus. i hoped i could see more episode of it. Just my opinion but I feel like seki kun always aces his tests which is why he is always bored during the classes. Its also sad that it is such an underrated show. more people should watch it. Great series overall!
