  creative and instructive.

  The project contains a lot of shorts all with their vision on what anime can be. What is possible to express and how. The show was accompanied with a website showing parts of the making-off for each episodes.
  Going trough a variety of aesthetics and giving chances for new directors to be well supported. Also aiming for high quality storyboard and narration. You don't waste time with episodes. And always are sure to see something well done for what it is aiming to achieve.

  It's advised to skip the opening before each episodes and watches them separately.

  I personally recommend (as stand alone narratives):

  03: ME!ME!ME! : Probably the most disturbing one with high quality atmospheres and very immersive. Quite disgusting but rewarding for the ones who will take the time to re-watch it until understanding the whole narrative.

  11: POWER PLANT : Slow paced episode require to have time to explore a well crafted universe with it's whole sociology, medias, inhabitants, technology. Convening quite simple message. It remain one of the most breath taking.

  25: HAMMERHEAD : definitely my favorite with it's 90's like aesthetic. A crude story of generational conflicts. And how the golden generation can't understand what their parents (the sacrificed generation) has created has a value system.

  28: ENDLESS NIGHT : Great focus on character and animation trough simplified backgrounds while using efficient camera motions. A whole show about change, psychological one but also on the artistic direction side.

  01: The Dragon Dentist : The deep war fiction. Creating a whole rich universe. Amazing work on pacing and atmospheres.

  31: GIRL : The kind of following of me!me!me even if maybe it was just a late change choice, still something to enjoy the joy of cracking the code. While being colorful and immersive.

  As musical videos:

  08: Tomorrow from there : wholesome.

  10: YAMADELOID : fun.

  19: I can Friday by Day! : cute.

  With good artistic direction:

  04: Carnage : the one episode to show about post processing. With various effects of lights and shadows. Creating characters with flaws and disabilities, a great works on realism.

  14: SEX and VIOLENCE with MACHSPEED: Gainax is dead, long live gainax.

  27: BUBU & BUBULINA: very western aesthetic and quite cryptic. Overall good.

  35: Cassette Girl: that's how we do 3D

  02: HILL CLIMB GIRL: that's how we do backgrounds.

  12: Evangelion: Another Impact: realistic evangelion.

  (#18: The Diary of Ochibi: that's stop motion)

  With good animation:

  34: Robot on the Road : it's directed (and partly animated) by okiura.

  06: 20min Walk From Nishi-Ogikubo Station : there is ohira.

  As a good joke;
