DESCRIPTION
A movie adaptation of the sixth volume of the light novel series announced at the MF Bunko J Summer School Festival 2016 event.
Six thousand years before Sora and Shiro were even a blink in the history of Disboard, war consumed the land, tearing apart the heavens, destroying stars, and even threatening to wipe out the human race. Amid the chaos and destruction, a young man named Riku leads humanity toward the tomorrow his heart believes in. One day, in the ruins of an Elf city, he meets Schwi, a female exiled "Ex Machina" android who asks him to teach her what it means to have a human heart.

30/100No Game No Life Zero takes a different way of the main series and make it even worse.Continue on AniListNo Game No Life was one of the worst animes I ever watched, everything in this anime was like mediocre to bad, but at least was fun to watch, all the references to others shows make me laughing at least. For No Game No Life Zero I can't say that tho.
In brief, the movie is boring as fuck, felt like would never end. All this "dark atmosphere" that the movie is trying to construct fails A LOT. But, let's talk about every aspect separately:First of all, the two main characters, Riku and Schwi. They have a design that is LITERALLY a copy and paste from Sora and Shiro. I know, I know, the movie is trying to make like a parallel, but man, is so fucking identical.
Riku even have that damn Sora's sadist smile which I fucking hate, and Schwi is just another source of incest and pedophile jokes like Shiro (literally, the first scene with Schwi already have a sex/incest joke). For their personality, they are both annoying, this drama of being in war and people dying making Riku mad and shit is laughable.
The relationship between them is horrible. All of this shit of Schwi wanting to know about human emotions leads the movie to a artificial romance that just Kouhei from Grand Blue would like. For the plot, all I can say is that the plot is boring. I don't really care about the eternal war that devasted the NGNL world. With like 30 minutes of movie elapsed I couldn't take it anymore. NGNL0 tries to build a more dark and complex plot than the main series, but it fails hard. Well, the plot of the anime is not to good too, but at least it was fun to watch, the comedy part with all the references to others shows and that gorgeous pink color palette is good enough to make it worth to watch; the movie, on the other hand, don't have all that beautiful visuals or the comedy part.
Aside from that let's talk about the good things.
I have to admit, the production is fucking awesome and the director has made a good job too. This scene (along side of the other action scenes) was really wonderful, visually speaking. The movie almost don't have pedophile fan service too, this is a evolution!
At the end, this movie is shit, if was not the amazing animation this would be on the bottom of my list. I can't take all of this loli fan service and jokes with sex or incest as the comic relief. I fucking hate NGNL, I'm glad that the light novels are banned from Amazon
NOTE: If you scrolled down just to see the score keep going, I do this too so whathever.

95/100The war is going on, but the game is just starting.Continue on AniListMy Thoughts on No Game No Life 0
Remember when I did my original review of No Game No Life? Yeah, that review. I talked about how I watched it when I was 11/12, and I loved it. To this day, it's still at a high score. I wouldn't say it's a 10/10, but more-so a 9.6/10. I still rate it highly because of how nostalgic it is to me.
Now, I left the anime scene when I was moving to the Philippines. At the time, I did NOT knew about there being a movie for No Game No Life. So I went to it when I started watching NGNL again, and I thought it wasn't as good as the original. Oh boy.. I took a look at it again, and I was SO wrong. Allow me to explain why.
Short Overview So this movie explains all of what happened in the Disboard 6000 years ago. It is nothing but a BIG war. A war with endless battles and multiple deaths. We have Riku, the main character who wants to finish off this entire war and lead to a past that humans wish for., and then there's Shuwi, an Ex-Machina unit who wants to learn about the heart of the human. Both eventually will pair up to put a stop to this war. Exactly how? Will it be pulled off? How will they end the game?
That's all I can really tell you about this movie. Nothing else really. I don't really wanna ruin this unique experience. Or downfall... idk, it just truly depends on how you see NGNL. As a nostalgic memory, yeah, it's amazing.
Story As I've said, this is all what happens 6000 years ago. Way before Sora and Shiro were brought to the Disboard. I find it really interesting to actually go back to the past and visit and experience all of what happened in the past. It's like saying that you wanna go ahead and experience World War I, how Earth was made, or even how everything in this earth was brought together. The story does have it's moments to shine, and it brightens up amazingly.
Characters Riku's character development makes me wonder how much he has suffered. I mean, he did got his home destroyed, he tried to plan out everything, but it would end in a loss, and he did order a lot of people to die in order for him to live longer, but that's just an excuse of there being no way for him to continue on without any of his comrades. Idk if this is just me, but that is antagonizing if it was me. He had it hard. As the movie progressed, he eventually came to having a lot more confidence in him. Now he has high hopes for his plans to work out. Take note on this: If you're confident that your plan will work, then pull it off. If not, then it could end in failure. There's only a 50% chance rate for it to work. I say, he had the most in him, and I would like to say that it's all thanks to Shuwi.
Shuwi's development was indeed interesting to say the least. Her reason as to why she stayed with Riku is as simple as it follows, to find the meaning of having a human heart. She could've just killed him off or throw him off the cliff, but no. Instead, she wanted to play a game of chess with him. Why? She estates that it's because it's the only thing that made Riku smiled. She eventually learns more about the human heart, and because of it, she got close to Riku very quick. The two would oftenly plot what the next move would be, and eventually, when they had the time, they'd play chess. Call this the origin as to why Tet made the Disboard a world of games.
Both their development brought an interesting story to the table. They have their moments to shine, and their game plans to plot. It's nice to see them grow and plot things out.
Visuals I'm a sucker for visuals, and there isn't much of a difference between the anime and this movie. They're both equally amazing as it is. It's a whole lot colorful, and the character designs... they haven't changed much, but it's good to have them be the same instead of them having a different design. The battle sequences, I find it to be wild. much of all of what's happening is just going real quick, or it's just a cluster-fuck of magic. Welp... MadHouse is now on the list for "Visually unique anime".
Overall Statement If you've enjoyed No Game No Life like I have, then this is indeed something worth watching. It ain't no Season 2, but I'll take it with what we have with this movie. Wanna know more about the world of the Disboard? Then watch it. Especially if you have seen No Game No Life first.
Well with another shit review out of the way, I bid you a nice day. See you again with another one.
