DESCRIPTION
Ichigo Kurosaki has always been able to see ghosts, but this ability doesn't change his life nearly as much as his close encounter with Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper and member of the mysterious Soul Society. While fighting a Hollow, an evil spirit that preys on humans who display psychic energy, Rukia attempts to lend Ichigo some of her powers so that he can save his family; but much to her surprise, Ichigo absorbs every last drop of her energy. Now a full-fledged Soul Reaper himself, Ichigo quickly learns that the world he inhabits is one full of dangerous spirits and, along with Rukia— who is slowly regaining her powers— it's Ichigo's job to protect the innocent from Hollows and help the spirits themselves find peace.

70/100A good story followed by exceptional characters, prepare to completely immerse yourself within the world of Bleach.Continue on AniListIntroduction By now, I’ve been hopping from one Shounen to another like a crack addict looking for his next fix. So, I was quite satiated when I stumbled upon Bleach. Now… I know what you guys are thinking, “How are you just now getting to Bleach? it’s one of the big 3 of Shounen!” All I got to say to that is, I read slow like an Alzheimer stricken boomer, so throw me a bone here. Bleach is very similar to many Shounen series, but I think its unique twists on the genre and the world building will interest any Shounen fanatic.
Bleach follows our main character, Ichigo Kurosaki. He is your regular, every day, cough cough OP high school kid. For as long as he could remember, Ichigo could see ghosts and interact with them, but he didn’t let that bother him. Until one day when he encounters a Soul Reaper by the name of Rukia. A slayer of Hollows, aka demon ghosts, sent to the world of the living to cleanse these evil ghosts. After being attacked by a Hollow, Ichigo gains the powers of a Soul Reaper and the rest is history.
Story: 7/10 Bleach lends itself as a legend in the Shounen genre. It is one of the big 3 which include Naruto and One Piece. However, because of this Bleach has a very cliché and typical Shounen story. For those not familiar, it’s the story of “I got beat by a bad guy, I’ve got to train and get stronger!” Because of this, once you read 1 or 2 Shounens you can guess what kind of story you’re going to get from other Shounens, which can make the story stale. But I think Bleach does a great job of incorporating other story elements to keep readers excited and interested despite its cliché storyline.
Bleach moves at a good pace despite its long arcs and has minimal obvious plot holes. Now, long arcs are a staple in Shounen and are usually a negative, but I think this is where Bleach surprises fans of Shounen. Bleach gives the readers a blend of needed exposition and amazing fights. I’m talking spectacular fights, there are so many fights that I can recall that just are awesome. Not only that but Bleach isn’t afraid to step away from Ichigo and let the story follow a side character. This surprised me because as an avid fan of Shounen, I’m used to Shounens only following the main character like an ex that can’t over you. It’s due to this that I think Bleach is still a breath of fresh air in an otherwise stale genre.
Art: 6/10 Man… how do I best describe the art? It’s like those parts in video games where the cutscene looks jaw dropping and then you get back to the actual game and the graphics don’t look like the cutscene, so you’re left disappointed. The cutscene in this case are when important or strong characters are introduced. They are drawn with good detail and actually make you feel like you’d shit your pants if you stood in front of them. The rest of the art is equivalent to the normal video game graphics. Bleach has a unique enough art style that you can tell whether or not a character is from Bleach even without watching or reading it but that’s about it. The background art isn’t paid much attention to, the paneling was decent, and the fights were clear enough for me to figure out what’s happening.
Characters: 8/10 This is where I think Bleach shines the most, in its characters and their development. See, Shounen has this issue where they stay away from developing any other character besides the main character and maybe his rival, but Bleach was like “Naw, me and my homies hate lack of character development” and went ahead and explored its other characters. Now, this obviously doesn’t apply to every single character and it’s not super detailed to the point where you know the character’s ancestry tree, but it’s enough for people to build a connection with them. Because of this, many characters are memorable and the progression of the characters and the bonds and relationships they form feel natural. I will say this though, Bleach is not without fault in terms of its characters, as it left many characters left out to dry. I’m looking at you Soi Fon, Ukitake, and THE ENTIRE VISORED CREW. Still though, I think the amount of characters that leave an impression on you outweighs that.
Enjoyment: 10/10 I really did enjoy every single moment of reading this manga. I absolutely love Ichigo as a main character (but I like Uryu more, fight me), and the world within Bleach just makes everything so much better. I love how each arc has a certain cultural theme. Hueco Mundo with its Latin themes and the Quincy’s with their German themes. There is just too much I enjoyed about this manga that it’d take me forever to jot them all down. Bleach definitely gave me a joyous time throughout.
Verdict I would seriously recommend this to any fan of Shounen and any fan of action. It’s got an exciting and hyperactive story, it has tons of memorable fights, there are so many impactful and lovable characters, there is just so much about this manga that will have you at the edge of your seat. I think it’s a must read for any Shounen fan and definitely a great series to start on if you’re new to the Shounen genre.

100/100"We fear that which we cannot see" that being deathContinue on AniListSpoiler Free for the Thousand Year Blood War (unless taged) every other spoiler is unmarked.
Bleach is a manga series written and illustrated by Tite Kubo. Bleach was serialized in the manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from August 2001 to August 2016, with its chapters collected into 74
volumes. The series follows the adventures of the hotheaded teenager Ichigo Kurosaki, who inherits his parents' destiny after he obtains the powers of a Soul Reaper—a death personification similar to the Grim Reaper—from another Soul Reaper, Rukia Kuchiki. His new-found powers force him to take on the duties of defending humans from evil spirits and guiding departed souls to the afterlife, for one arc as the series progress as a series of it's own and explaining the plot of the series later.
I for a while wasn't really that interest in Bleach in fact I was even planning to drop it after the Arrancar Arc until I saw this video:
Note: The video 2 hours
If a video could change my life this can this video changed my perspective on the series and turn me into the Bleach fan I am right now.
Story 9/10
The story is about a boy named Ichigo Kurosaki who is a teenager from Karakura Town who can see ghosts, a talent which lets him meets Rukia Kuchiki who enters Ichigo's room in search of a Hollow, a kind of monstrous lost soul who can harm both ghosts and humans. Rukia is one of the Soul Reapers , soldiers trusted with ushering the souls of the dead from the World of the Living to the Soul Society the afterlife realm from which she originates, and with fighting Hollows. When she is severely wounded defending Ichigo from a Hollow she is pursuing, Rukia transfers her powers to Ichigo so that he may fight in her stead while she recovers her strength.Rukia is thereby trapped in an ordinary human body, and must advise Ichigo as he balances the demands of his substitute Soul Reaper duties and attending high school. For aid in hunting the Hollows, the pair ally with a trio of other spiritually empowered teenagers: Ichigo's high school classmate Orihime Inoue, best friend Yasutora "Chad" Sado and the Quincy—humans who have the ability to control spirit particles—Uryu Ishida.
Bleach's plot incorporates the traditional Japanese belief of spirits coexisting with humans and their nature, good or evil, depends on the circumstances. as well other religions such as Christianity, and other cultures such as Mexican culture and German culture.
The series stays basically the same for one arc, but changes quickly once Rukia is sent back to the Soul Society where she's sent there to be executed as punishment for sending her Soul reaper powers to Ichigo, in thus we're introduce to the Soul Society. Soul Reapers are the protectors of souls, granting them access to Soul Society and keeping them safe from hollows. In the arc Ichigo has to fight some members of the Soul Society in order to save Rukia from execution. Rukia is saved but 3 members of the Soul Society (Aizen, Gin, and Tousen) betrayed the Soul Society. Which makes us go to our next arc The Arrancar arc which is separated into 4 arcs: the Arrancar Invasion, the Invasion of Hueco Mundo, the White Invasion, and the Invasion of Soul Society all of these arcs have one thing in common it's the arcs are to stop Aizen ) who sends an army of Arrancar (which are basically hollows with Shinigami powers). At the end of the arc Ichigo fights Aizen in which Aizen is defeated his is later sealed by Urahara.
The Fullbring arc is a great reboot arc of the series developing Ichigo and seeing a more human side of him. And lastly without getting into spoiler the Thousand Year Blood War Arc is a good arc but the problem was Kubo's health was declining around the time it was releasing leading the arc to be very rushed, but it was still a good arc.
Character 10/10
Ichigo is a really great main character starting from an edgy delinquent who barely cared about saving people to a person who's whole heart is to protect his family and the Soul Society.
Rukia is also a phonemical character who is a great Deuteragonist as her relationship with Ichigo progress in the series.
Orihime is also a great character coming from a dysfunctional family and despite that she still a very king girl.
Uryu is a great companion for Ichigo, who starts as his rivals but later became a good friend of his.
Chad (to be honest) was a wasted character despite his motivation is to protect everyone after Hueco Mundo we barely see him doing anything.
The Soul Society (excluding fatass Marechiyo Omaeda) are all great characters with their own personalities and backstories. But let me talk about the villains and antagonist of the series:
Aizen is an amazing villain, Aizen's rise and fall is an amazing story as a person who betrays the soul society to become God and despite that he eventually fails
The image contains spoilers for The Thousand Year Blood War:
Gin is a great of a example of a person pretending to be a villain to protect everyone.
Ulquiorra starts out of as emotionless person but before he dies he later understand what the heart is.
I will not go into Yhwach due to many of it being spoilers but he's a really good final boss.
Enjoyment 10/10
Bleach is one of the manga where I enjoyed reading every single chapter of it. Bleach is a story about how to accepting death and the adventure Ichigo goes through in order to protect others.
Is the anime worth watching?
Both yes and no.
It's a decent adaption but the main problem is that it alters certain characters, censor certain scenes from the manga, and heavily pans to IchiRuki (Ichigo x Rukia) shippers.Overall 10/10
Bleach is a really good story on the supernatural despite it's flaws it's still one of my favorite manga I've every read.
While it's not a masterpiece like other manga it's a really well written manga to say the least.Mob100p
85/100There is no debate that Bleach is part of the big 3. A journey through anime/manga has introduced me to a amazing storyContinue on AniListNon- spoiler Bleach manga rant and Kind of a Thousand Year Blood War Review?:
I hate publishing companies now, after reading bleach and seeing some S tier build up only to end on an ass pull fucking enrages me. Thousand year blood war albeit not perfect had the potential to fully show off the culmination of Kubo's work. After finishing the last volume, i felt legitimately shocked on how they finished over 15 years of work that i googled why the ending was the way it was. ITS BECAUSE THEY TOLD KUBO TO WRITE THE WHOLE ASS WAR IN ONE YEAR AND HE EVEN LIKE TORE FUCKIN TENDONS IN HIS SHOULDER THAT PROHIBITED HIS WRITING. Im not gonna delve into the ending and all the shit leading to it, but I still encourage people to read bleach after watching. Even though after the soul society arc(which is the first arc) the plot and story fell off somewhat, the characters and their abilities let me satisfied throughout the show up until its end. The manga has to have some of the beautiful art in any of the manga ive read and I have to say that Bleach has one of the best and may be the best power and abilities of any anime/manga ive watched/read. Kubo did a great job tying in and connecting the story from beginning to thousand year blood war arc(leaving out that fuckin ending). Bleach was truly a journey and i have to say the ride was much better than the end. I am in much anticipation for the return of bleach and hopes the rumors of Kubo adding changes that he wasn't able to do in the manga to fix the plot holes and questionable areas are true(AND ACTUALLY MAKE AN APPLICABLE ENDING). I wholeheartedly believe that if STUDIO FUCKING PIERROT doesn't fumble the bag, Bleach will definitely be a show that any anime watcher will enjoy.Final words:
SHONEN JUMP IS A FUCKIN C**NT, THEY DID THIS TO TOKYO GHOUL TOO, FUCKIN AIDS MAN.
IF you read BLEACH SPOILERS BEWARE :
THE FUCKING ARROW IS THE BIGGEST ASS PULL IN THE HISTORY OF ASS PULLS
AND HOW DID like NO ONE DIE(RIP Komamura), even tho Byakuya was one of my favorite characters, he should've died. I know Kubo worried about fans being fucktards and threatening him for killing him but like g, cmon it helps you more in terms of story building. Like the amount of character development potential for ichigo, renji, and rukia would've been fuckin heat. Like the quincy were fucking strong af compared to the shinigami.
Tensei and Rose got done did dirty by Gremmy(i fuckin loved this part, death is great), to only get somehow like revived by Mayuri.
Highkey did Rukia dirty in the whole series, i thought she finally would've gotten stronger and more independent but just kept getting saved by Renji, Byakuya, and Ichigo.
Rip Uryu bruh, jus give him Anti-thesis for it not to be able to be used
lol when kubo expresses his anger in the panels
On another note, Kazui and Ichika potential is out of this world. I know its been hella long, but i hope something about the two of them will be written. Cuz Kazui somehow jus absorbs Yhwach's remaining power and Ichika looks fuckin dope.
THE AMOUNT OF OFF SCREEN DIFFS JUS BREAKS MY HEART
Highkey laughed when Komamura jus turned into a doge and died, like mans jus went fuckin black air force mode only to jus get Bambi like kinda dead.
DONT EVEN FUCKING MENTION TO ME HOW DIRTY THEY DID THE DADS, jus fuck Isshin and Ryuken.
and the power scaling for Yhwach kinda sad tbh, like they shoulda had more than jus renji, ichigo and aizen fighting him in the end. Cuz Yhwach is a literal god.
YO AND HOW DIRTY THEY DID GERARD AND Haschwalth, like they did such a good job showcasing the the emotions and readiness to die when they realize that Gerard is a fuckin lord for him and Haschwalth to jus their powers yeeted by Yhwach. IM OKAY WITH PEOPLE DYING, IT HURTS, BUT LIKEEEE SHIHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH bruh.
SQUAD zero lol, get schwamped
IDK, all this is jus off the top of my head, their is def more stuff i wanna say.
Viewer Discretion for FUCKIN HEAT:
