  Kazuya-hen 13th anniversary review: The Weakness Of A Human Being

  **(not so spoiler-free!)**

  WELL DAMN, this arc really made me think harder about past decisions I've made in life.
  Kaiji: Kazuya-hen is yet another great part in the Kaiji series and what makes in so unique is the fact that it's just a build up sub arc for One Poker that still manages to be one of Fukumoto's best works imo

  FUKUMOTO HAS IMPROVED WITH HIS EXPRESSIVE ART STYLE OVERALL

  So for Fukumoto double spreads ease on him to go crazy with the pen so in this arc he actually choose to make 2 to 3 double spreads for each goddamn chapter which is super awesome and I'm not gonna repeat myself again cuz I already mentioned that in my 17 steps review but he blasted this arc in terms of paneling and art JUST LOOK AT THAT

  KAZUYA'S REFLECTION ON HUMAN NATURE AND HIS EXPERIMENT

  can we start off by the fact that I WAS RIGHT, FKMT REALLY PROJECTS HIMSELF HAS KAZUYA SOMETIMES IN THE MANGE that is so awesome, saldly yet again he bashes himself by dissing his own work

  

  While the story progresses we see how Kazuya tries to show the inner evil of a human being and how fear can bend the strongest mentalities, in order to prove his point we see him and Kaiji fight.
  Kaiji is the exact opposite of kazuya, a nobody who has no money to his name, someone who thinks that a ture bond between people is the strongest material on earth and if it's genuine enough it'll never break.
  Kazuya's life trauma and him realizing he was never genuinely been loved is what drives him to do these kind of experiments on a group of people and what makes him such a unique and interesting character, so basically Kazuya and Kaiji are yin and yang, masterfull.

  THE FOREIGN TRIO

  during the arc we meet the 3 protagonist of the arc Mitsuyama, Chang and Mario.
  with each interview with a character we understand how strong their bond is, how they share a lot of aspects in life and how they came together as a team. even if they're not that interesting and even pretty bland if you ask me they're still a great addition to the series especially in One Poker which I'll cover in a later review.

  CONCLUCION

  PROS:
  -Hits home for most readers(in a good way)
  -Shows how fear can cut the strongest bonds between ppl
  -thrilling as always even if the MC wasn't that involved like we used to
  -An actual good learning experience like any kaiji part

  CONS:
  -Kaiji's face structure and teeths were changed for the worst for some reason in some panels, more noticeable in pages like this
