100/100Yu Yu Hakusho's own version of Madoka Rebellion, but how well does it hold up today??Continue on AniListYu yu hakusho was made by the HxH guy (yeah that one) in the 90s, and everyone loved it due to it having Kuwabara and also some other characters. It was so popular it was made into an anime which is said to have some of the most fluid and based cell animation art by most people who watch it. Now after it ended, that's where most people think the story ends, but they would be wrong, because in October 2009, for the new box set, they also released a piece of media that was so Kino that describing it as a "bonus" is the biggest understatement of the century. </center>~~~The Plot (WARNING: Contains heavy spoilers for both Yu Yu Hakusho Picture Drama and it's prequel series) Some time after the makai tournament, Enki, the tournament winner, calls upon Yusuke, Kuwabara, and Kurama to create a voice recording to bring peace between the human and demon realms (also to raise funds). But this isn't any normal voice recording, as it's revealed that it's going to be used for wake up clocks and lullabies. This creates a sense of pressure for the protagonists, as if they fuck up, they will ruin the dreams and mornings of everyone in existence, including the guy that Hiei stabbed through the head in the dark tournament. And just like in said tournament, Kuwabara is suddenly rejuvenated when he sees Yukina sitting in the audience, which also includes Botan, Keiko, Koenma, and George, but they don't have much of an important role in this picture drama. While Yusuke mutters that he should win the tournament next time so that this doesn't happen again, Kuwabara makes his brilliant audio recording with his mouth words. This is why I compare this to Rebellion, his truly epic voice recording is on par with most things that Homura said in the movie, except that he didn't have to cuck god in order to say it, and that's why Kuwabara is the better written character. Unfortunately, the audience is full of Attack on Titan fans, who boo him due to him not mentioning anything about genocide. Seeing his chance, Yusuke also tries his attempt at a voice recording. However, possibly in order to get the AoT fans out of the audience, instead of deep and thought provoking dialogue, he sends out death threats. No boos are heard from the audience, the AoT fans left and everyone else doesn't want to comment due to Yusuke being the same guy who can shoot lasers out of his finger. Kurama, being the last one left, finally goes and does his greetings, in a similar matter to Kuwabara, but less thought provoking (unless your thoughts are dinner date with him), and more of a general romantic approach. Naturally, every white woman in the audience starts screaming and slapping their thighs together while spitting. Now this is where most people would think it ends, but however Kuwabara wants "the final guy" to also make a recording. For those who were born yesterday, the final guy is Hiei, however due to Hiei being a little (get it? he's small) bitch and a tax evader, he would never do a recording. However, Kuwabara and his infinite wisdom have already made a plan. They will get Hiei to say random things and then use the latest in final cut pro technology to make his words into good morning and good night messages. This is why this series is one of the best, battles are not just won with big lasers, but also with smarts. After Hiei drops in (this is a joke, he fell for one of Kuwabara's traps and literally dropped head first onto the recording stage) the gang use their expert wit to get Hiei to say various words and also convince him that Kuwabara was going to spend an entire day with his sister (his sister is Yukina if you've never seen the show). After hearing the final message, the crowd goes wild, and Hiei (being the soyboy that he is) immediately tries to destroy all copies of the recording and the entire studio with his black dragon wave. Yusuke stays behind to shoot him, while Kurama and Kuwabara lead everyone out of the stadium so that Hiei's soyrage doesn't hurt anyone. Overall this is one of the best pieces of anime released. Perfect writing, perfect ost, perfect visuals, and one of the most deep and in depth characters in fiction ever written. Just like how Madoka Magica Rebellion was Homura's movie, this is Kuwabara's picture show. Truly a deconstruction of the voice recording genre.
