70/100A good lesson to never get your hopes upContinue on AniList__No spoilers__ TL;DR Review
Story - 70: Humans learn the dark truth of what they mean in the world around them, an interesting thriller. However, don't expect this to last forever.
Art - 80: Art was pretty cool to look at, you can tell that there is detail placed into most of the elements around.
Character - 60: Characters who on the surface seem intelligent, but deeper into their motives you can see how well characters can deceive one another to get their desires. However, this too doesn't last forever.
Enjoyment - 70: Pretty good read, it's nothing special once you get further along with the story. But I was still somewhat fun to read.
Overall 70/100Full Review:
Humanity can be known on earth as the top of the food chain. Why? Because what separates us from animals, plants, and matter, is that we can reason, we have the intelligence to reason with what we do with our actions. This has given us the position of the highest spot of the food chain that exists in our ecosystem. However, this wasn't always true, even with reason, humanity has 2 great flaws: 1. We are physically weak compared to most animals. We don't have incredible reflexes like our feline friends, stupid brute force like a rhino, or insane sight like an eagle. Even with reason, there was a time when we weren't at the top of the food chain just yet. To counter this, humans joined sides and built together, live together and share ideas, leading us to today's society. This is where our 2nd weakness comes in; 2. Separate us and we become weaker. Naturally, this is true with most groups. However, since humans are already psychically weak, this would have a greater toll on us.
So then, what happens when you get beings that are above humans in strength and posses reason like us, and you, a human, are in a small group of humans in a seemingly hopeless position. Well, The Promised Neverland tries to explain what would happen.
Story - 70:
In the small world of the Grace Field House orphanage, everything seems happy and jolly. The children here take what seems to be an IQ test, before playing around and eating to their heart's content. But then, the dark truth is learnt that the children of this orphanage are bred to the higher-ups of the food chain known as the demons to them. This leads to unfoldings of double agents, psychological games, and the unravelling of the deeper truth of what is going on in the world they live in. This probably the best part of the entire story, aka the Jailbreak Arc. From then on, you can expect to not see this kind of tension between characters again. Which, in fairness, would make sense given the world the children live in. The Promised Neverland had made such a swift change in the genre to the point where the Jailbreak Arc and the rest of the story can be considered as two different genres entirely. All in all, whilst this was a great story, to begin with, the story ended up cursing itself because actions which took place in the first part of the story just could not happen in the rest.
It was tragic to see such a great and interesting story fall to pieces so quickly.Art - 80:
Pretty good art, I haven't seen anything directly the same as its style before. But from the looks of it, it seemed original and pleasuring to stare at. Here are some I particularly liked.

Characters - 60:
What an epic fail. Honestly, such great characters went to waste one way or another, such a tragic waste. What The Promised Neverland fell victim to with their characters, was that they had the wrong personalities and abilities in a given place. Ironically, one of the most generic character types, Emma's, ended up being the most suitable to some extent the best for the entire story. It is laughable at how that turned out to be.Emma's character is the type to place unrealistic ideas above all else, she places her family first and will do anything to make sure they are safe, in addition to this she is stubborn. Because of this, she proceeds with illogical and irrational motives of her in the name of keeping her family safe, even if said task is borderline impossible. Spoiler:this works because most of the story is built upon fighting the demons which don't directly take into account intelligence, rather, it takes fighting skills and team awareness.Ray and Norman were very good characters, to begin with, both were intelligent, and always had a scheme up their sleeve, however, due to the literal atmosphere, Ray's character was shot down and pretty much almost forgotten from after the Jailbreak Arc. The only hope left was Norman, spoiler: however, Norman's character was also shot down, not as quickly as Ray though. Further, into the story, Norman becomes a leader type character, he was going to sacrifice everything for the sake of humans. He is the only character from after the Jailbreak Arc to revive the fallen psychological games, however, he had played them with the demons this time. This personality dies after Emma does some confronting to him
As for other characters like Isabella and Krone they were good characters that would go out of their way to do anything to get what they desire. Isabella's character, in particular, had given that sense since she does anything in the name of her twisted love for the children of Grace Field house. For Krone, she is comparable to that of Ray, she is intelligent and sly, and has a scheming plan she wishes to fulfil.
All in all, characters had a great start to them but couldn't hold the weight of story convenience that was placed upon them.
Enjoyment - 70:
Despite all the failures The Promised Neverland gave, it is an enjoyable read. I liked it for the most part, even when the story degenerates later on.Overall: 70/100
I would recommend this to anyone how wants to give this a try but you will be left with the lesson of never get your hopes up. I was expecting masterpiece level story when I was reading this since I have watched the anime first, then moved onto the manga. I was so interested in the story that I just didn't wait for Season 2. But, the story failed me. Even so, whilst this does become a generic story to progress with. It was still nice to read.

59/100A masterpiece... until it gets really badContinue on AniList__This first part of the reviews does not contain spoilers AFTER THE FIST ANIME SEASON.__ The visuals don’t stand out from other mangas, except by very few panels. I particularly don’t like the art style. With several super-smart children in an orphanage, the story begins weirdly normal until they find out that they are not waiting for adoption but are in fact cattle, waiting to be killed and served as food. After that, the cat and rat games became the central part of the story and It is, by far, the best part of the entire manga. The thriller and mind-games don’t let you stop reading, you always want to read one more chapter. My score for the first three arcs:>- `Story: 91 ` - `Characters: 82` - `Visuals: 69` - `Enjoyment: 96` This manga starts with some great dark story, but, after the second/third arc, it starts to gradually lose quality, until It gets __completely garbage__ in the three last arcs. The amount of unbelievable and improbable things that start happening is out of this world, and those improbable events keep happening one after another, again and again, nonstop until the very last second. From the middle to the end, I only keep following this just to know how the author will be able to keep shitting on the work that once enchanted me. [ Here is an image that represents this manga](https://imgur.com/nF4ICmR.png).
__84/100____SPOILERS AHEAD!!!__ Emma’s blind optimism and selfish behavior are immense. Putting all her friends at risk, betting their lives on some idealistic outcome. And one of the worst parts of it is that everyone suddenly changes their minds, going from “WE NEED TO KILL ALL DEMONS AND EAT THEIR FLESH TO AVENGE OUR DEAD FRIENDS” to “Yeahh let’s help Emma with her impossible plan to save all demons while risking the lives of all of us!!! ”. To finish it all with a suitable end to this trashcan on fire, all end with a flawless victory to the idealistic, utopic plan with the only consequence introducing no real punishments for Emma's absurd wish. As the good part of this manga, it’s only the first three arcs, my score is __HUGELY__ influenced by the other eight arcs.> - `Story: 55` - `Characters: 58` - `Visuals: 69` - `Enjoyment: 56` "why giving it an above 50 score if it is so bad?" The most part of the story is actually enjoyable, no that good, but enjoyable, with the arc that the first season of the anime adapts, the golden pond arc(they skipped this arc on the anime second season), and the lost children alone, by them selfs, making choices to survive. It's also entertaining to see the trashcan on fire with your favorites characters changing personalities for no reason along with numerous _Deus ex machina_ moments on the three last arcs. I highly recommend not to read or watch it after the first anime season adaptation and if you accept my advice __[here is a summary to save your time.](https://textsaver.flap.tv/lists/3wu4)__RuGKun
100/100The Promised Neverland.... The MASTERPIECE !Continue on AniListBefore getting started my review I would like to say something about Yakusoku No Neverland. When I discovered The Promised Neverland for the first time in September 2018, I was not too interested in this title because I found it too cute and childish it was not my style, but after a few months of my discovery I still changed opinion and I started reading this manga, I first read the first chapter of volume 1 and ... It was incredible! ! Since that day The Promised Neverland has become my favorite manga of all time, after reading it I knew it was a masterpiece and that I was wrong to underestimate this work, And now the words are not enough to express my love for The Promised Neverland. I have never loved a manga like TPN ! The mysteries, the psychological things, the horror moments, Thriller, all those things are AMAZING ! Plus the GOD TIER Covers and Color Spreads ! All those things makes Yakusoku No Neverland one of the best manga of last decade in the Weekly Shonen Jump if it's not the best ! Cause this type of Manga is phenomenal. Unfortunately it's the end of the manga, And now I'm looking for the adaptation in Anime. So I would like to say "Thank You" to the greatest manga ever The Promised Neverland.
The universe:
• The universe of the manga is just beautiful and incredible, it is also a little creepy and weird, because there are a lot of details which are very interesting and very important for the history of the manga and the construction of the scenario. The scenario : </center>~~~~<center> • The script for The Promised Neverland is really very well thought out and organized, I have rarely seen a script as well written and developed, in each end of chapter we leave you on an end or a cliffhanger which will push you to read more history, because the construction of the arcs and the maturity of the events is truly incredible. Art and drawings: </center>~~~~~~<center> • The art used by Mrs. Posuka Demizu the designer of the manga is not only beautiful and magnificent but it is also very dark and scary, because her drawing style is very original which gives a magnificent result on the quality and the details of the 'artwork. Characters : </center>~~<center> • The characters in The Promised Neverland are really very special, I really like them. They are cute, adorable and childish but do not underestimate them because they are very clever, their intelligence and maturity always surprises me because despite their young age they always try to learn more and to always be up to par. Conclusion: </center>~~~~~ • The Promised Neverland is really a masterpiece in my eyes, because the passion I have for this work goes beyond all limits, it is among the few manga that gave me joy and goosebumps, short The Promised Neverland is the best manga I have read in my life.
