85/100This anime describes really well the Dream of a "Neet".Continue on AniListThis anime describes really well the Dream of a "Neet". The remote possibility of finding your loved one playing a MMORPG. From all the possibilities of this reality, Net-juu no Susume, illustrates one comic and realistic one.
From the very beginning we are presented a Girl that left her job for “reasons”. Then she reveals herself to be a “NEET”, someone that loves to forget the “Real World” and enter the “Virtual” one. As you will see in the 1st episode the main character plays, inside the game, as someone of the opposite sex, thing actually normal for people that want to have some fun AWAY from the REAL WORLD. As the history progresses, she has a comic fateful encounter with an old colleague that she does not recognize. Sometime after they meet again, and there the history starts to create. Eventually she meets more people, some happen to already play, others join the game later on. Lily (game character), or Yuuta Sakurai, the man that falls in love for the main character Moriko Morioka, also called Hayashi, happens to start adding the things up after some time and realizes that connection between Hayashi and the person being the computer. All this appended because of Homare Koiwai, Sakurai’s boss, which had meet Moriko while shopping, they both recognize one another facilitating the conversation, and appointing a date right after. As soon as Homare Koiwai realises that Sakurai is in love with Moriko, he decides to help out a bit and tries to get them together. After that the story gets a lot funnier and complex, so make sure u watch it. After this the history has its Cliché part, but also adds a lot of original parts. Personally I've done this (play as a character of the opposite sex) and while watching this anime it sure brought back a lot of memories. I do recommend this anime for people that play online games, like/"appreciate" comedy & romances, and absolutely to everyone that likes to DREAM! (Also if u are older than 18 years old and still a virgin there is an 80% chance u will like this)

90/100Nerd-friendly comedy with a dash of romance, all without the saccharine trappings of romance in anime!Continue on AniListIf you play MMOs and enjoy fun, lighthearted romance, you'll probably love this series. If you self-identify as a NEET, or ever have in your life, you'll probably relate to Morimori-chan a lot, too! This delightful little series kept me busy every Friday night and I will miss my time in Fruits de Mer!
The story is nothing groundbreaking, in fact, you can see the twists coming a mile away, but Morimori-chan, her friends (both online and off), and their adventures keep you so entertained and interested that it doesn't really matter when they're finally revealed to be what you expected.
MILD SPOILERS AHEAD
What we learn about Sakurai's childhood, combined with Morioka's reluctance to participate in the rat race of Tokyo, make it fairly obvious why these two people have chosen an MMO to connect with other people. They've obviously both been burned, albeit in very different ways, but when they meet and find a kindred soul in one another, it's easy to understand why. Watching their relationship blossom makes sense and you find yourself, as a viewer, rooting for the two of them. I found the push and pull of their relationship fun to watch and it felt a bit more realistic for thirtysomething adults. In the hands of another writer, the tension between these two could have easily been juvenile, but rather we're treated to the realities of two adults, who are terrible at socializing, coming to grips with their feelings for one another and navigating that in their own way. Hats off to Kazuyuki Fudeyasu for fleshing out such fully-realized adults without dragging down the story with too much harsh reality. My only complaint about this series is that the OP/ED of the show led me to believe we'd learn more about Morioka's guildmates, and while we do learn a bit about Kanbe, I really wanted to know more about Pokotaro, Himeralda, Lilac and the rest of the gang. I was also a bit puzzled as to what forced Morioka to quit her job and become a NEET. It was obvious she played Fruits de Mer in order to escape her real life and connect with people on her terms, but it felt like there was something else there that was never explored.
Overall, this fun little comedy with a bit of romance was super enjoyable to watch. I have no idea if there's enough material for a second season, but I sure would love another visit to Fruits de Mer!

57/100Teenagers in adults' bodies?!Continue on AniListDisclaimer
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS
I can't write reviews, this text will just include my random thoughts about this show. Also, I've started watching it back when it first aired, stopped and finished just yesterday so my view on this title may be a bit off.You were warned. Obvious Problems
Net-juu no Susume is a show about a NEET woman who literally quit her job just to play MMO games. Fair enough, we've seen this in anime already. But there's one issue. Where does she take money from? Maybe it was explained and I missed it but to me, it seems like she shouldn't have internet access, water, food, ANYTHING. And that's partly where my review's summary is coming from - she's more like a teenager whose parents are sending them money to live and study but they quit the school because who cares about a job or education when you can play games while you get money for doing nothing.
But there's another smaller issue which, to be fair, triggered me even more which is at times the characters were even more annoying than your teen drama romcom cast. How is it possible? I have no idea but they're supposed to be reasonable, mature adults and somehow they're more childish and dense than freakin' middle-schoolers.
I honestly wouldn't have any problems if Moriko and Yuuta were, say, 10 years older. But honestly, can you imagine 30-year-old acting like that? Well, I can't.But this anime has to do something right, right?
Yes, yes it does. Actually, if you turn a blind eye to my nitpicking it's pretty decent show. Soundtrack was pretty nice, character design was appealing and animation was good. Besides characters' unexplained behavior they actually progress - that's something I wasn't expecting from a show which served me otaku romcom with 15-year-old in two times older body. Their relationships feel pretty natural and development is believable - again, something I'm never expecting from a romcom.
But that's about it - strong basis, but nothing more.So then, why such low score?
If the plot was only as predictable as it was I wouldn't complain but oh man those coincidences are seriously something else. They are playing presumably large (or at least somewhat big) MMO game and not only they live in the same city but they all also live near eachother?! That's seriously some r/nevertellmetheodds material. Not only that but also Yuuta turns out to be the same person Moriko was playing with years ago. NOT ONLY THAT but Yuuta also hires at the same place Moriko dropped out from. And the list of coincidences goes on. I apologize but if the plot can't think of any reason for any action, I can't score this show any higher, despite how cute, enjoyable or whatever it was.
But hey, both OP and ED rule
