Yukiru Sugisaki's New Manga Project Is DDNAngels (Updated)
The January 2025 issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Asuka magazine revealed on Friday that D.N.Angel creator Yukiru Sugisaki's new project is a manga in the series titled DDNAngels. The manga launched in the same issue on Friday. Update: The author comment in the magazine issue specifically lists the manga's title with a double D and without any punctuation, so this article now reflects that format.The magazine previously released an image featuring the shadow of a wing over a painting frame and a signed card. The image also teased: "ending the long period of silence, the time of awakening is approaching."The manga's story centers on a 14-year-old boy named Daisuke Niwa who tries to declare his love to the girl of his dreams but fails. Instead, whenever he thinks about the girl, he transforms into the legendary phantom thief known as Dark Mousy.Xebec studio adapted D.N.Angel into a television anime series in 2003. A.D. Vision and Discotek Media released the anime in North America.Tokyopop has also released Sugisaki's Brain Powered, Rizelmine, and The Candidate for Goddess manga in English (Viz Media later picked up Rizelmine). The Candidate for Goddess and Rizelmine also inspired anime adaptations.
