DESCRIPTION
Gold Roger was known as the Pirate King, the strongest and most infamous being to have sailed the Grand Line. The capture and death of Roger by the World Government brought a change throughout the world. His last words before his death revealed the location of the greatest treasure in the world, One Piece. It was this revelation that brought about the Grand Age of Pirates, men who dreamed of finding One Piece (which promises an unlimited amount of riches and fame), and quite possibly the most coveted of titles for the person who found it, the title of the Pirate King.
Enter Monkey D. Luffy, a 17-year-old boy that defies your standard definition of a pirate. Rather than the popular persona of a wicked, hardened, toothless pirate who ransacks villages for fun, Luffy’s reason for being a pirate is one of pure wonder; the thought of an exciting adventure and meeting new and intriguing people, along with finding One Piece, are his reasons of becoming a pirate. Following in the footsteps of his childhood hero, Luffy and his crew travel across the Grand Line, experiencing crazy adventures, unveiling dark mysteries and battling strong enemies, all in order to reach One Piece.

90/100A really fun adventure comprised of a wacky crew...Continue on AniListWow ,this is my first review that i ever made and my english is quite bad so bare with me there (this review will be utter shit basically) i watched all one piece ova, movies and read some arcs in the manga , so trust me. This review will be some real biased shitty review which will only praise the show (okay prob not but this review will not be good)
This review will contain spoilers
~
''Wealth, fame, power. The man who had acquired everything in the world, the Pirate King, Gold Roger. The final words that were said at his execution sent the people to the seas.Gold Roger: "My wealth and treasure? If you want it, I'll let you have it. Look for it, I left it all at that place!"
Men now, chasing their dreams, head towards the Grand Line. The world now enters a Great Age of Pirates!''
~This is the first thing you hear when you begin watching one piece.
One piece follows our protagonist luffy and he wants to find , well, The one Piece! (wow what surprise )So that he can become the kaizoku ou (pirate king)~What make one piece special is how fun it is....
The premise is really basic at first , but it gets to something really epic and bigger then first imagined. All of the straw hats are quirky and it is because of their quirkiness that it is so much fun to watch them doing shizz together.
All of the straw hats are well developed though they never get much more character development past their arc , i can still say that they are well developed and have all interesting backgrounds. The world building is honestly groundbreaking , because of how it is set , one piece could indeed ''last forever'' without being boring.
Each island has their own lore , own people and own special characteristics to them. Each island looks quite wonderful.
One piece has also it's own pirate philosophy which is really good and makes pirates more understood overall.~One piece is also not so serious which is a good thing AND a bad thing
It makes the world on one piece more wacky and fun but sometime not serious when it needs to be.Like how one piece is afraid to kill his characters, which, don't get me wrong , you don't especially need to kill your characters each second , but sometimes you gotta do it to make the story more believable....
Like for exemple in the ''big war arc'' when it is literally pirate vs marines. There were only 2 casualties which is quite laughable. Also in the doflamingo arc when nobody dies which makes no sense at all. There is rarely a casualty in one piece which kinda sucks.
One piece does have serious themes however , even though they get burried away since a character gonna say some dumb shit 10 minutes later (which is quite fun ngl) . Even naruto feels more serious with it's themes when One piece themes are actually well defined and explains most of how the world works and what the world problem is (aka good world building) .
One piece does also have serious moments (mostly flashbacks). They can be really good and can set the mood for a fight which makes it more epic (Especially a final fight)
There are also times when one piece also KILLS some characters , and since they rarely do kill a character.
The character death is way more significant than in other shows and the deaths aren't ''meaningless'' (Well i hoped they wouldn't be since they no kill nobody).
All of the deaths feel important and quite sad (though i never cried ,it was still sad , i mean everybody be crying and shizz)
~! personal opinion but ace's death felt WAY too forced , they could of killed the nibba at any time, marine had way more fo an advantage but nooooooo , let's wait until he is not handcuffed and shit , and then Ace could of went away but this nibba is so fucking prideful ,he died to the most shittiest bait of all history, even luffy said to ace to stop this nonsense , MOTHERFLIPPING LUFFY , ace's death was overrated but it did bring character development to luffy and a little bit of the entire rest of the crew!, without it they wouldn't had the motivation to train and stuff.~The animation: Is really amazing..... amazingly dog shit lmfao .
The fights can still be enjoyable though , because of the epic factor (but they could be way better , look at the one piece movies , especially the 4 last ones )But the animation is still total dog shit
The art: The art changes quite often during the series and they really much deviated from the original art style which was more manga-like , though they went back to the right track in the wano arc
The music: Quite good honestly , sad when it has to be , and epic when it has to be (aka the Walk lol)
The pacing : HAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHA ...... dog shit . While the first few arc are decently paced , at episode 400 or so , the story becomes much slower which you could clearly see in the doflamingo arc. In fact it was so slow that i used to play tetris while binge watching that arc and didn't miss anything important of the story.
The jokes: I found them quite fun but i actually rarely laughed at them. But i still Do really like them since it makes the world more fun and wacky
OKay so go watch one piece now little boy , if you expect something REALLLLLY serious , dark and edgy. You won't find that here . But if you just want to see the wacky adventures of wacky characters in a good defined world , this is the show for you .Each one piece arc are wonderful and not boring , and even when the stakes goes higher , it never felt forced like dragon ball , in fact , it is quite entertaining(this conclusion sucked but alright , end of review , i score this 90 , it is still a wonderful experience even with all the cons i just presented because at the end of the day , i can't hate one piece... (i can just hate toei instead)
Edit:I reread the review and a lot of grammar mistakes were made , i'm actually too lazy to edit them all ,so uh beware

98/100One Piece is a great adventure series, with a lovable cast of characters.Continue on AniListOne Piece is a great adventure series, with a lovable cast of characters. This series follows the adventures of a boy named Luffy who's goal is to become "King of the pirates". This series has some of the best world building in fiction, islands and islands packed with information on geography and rich history. A map of the One Piece world can be so detailed almost as life like as a real world map. One Piece has very strong characters and a very strong protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy is a character that has dreams and goals supported with motive. The cast of characters is so grand that characters you meet 100's of episodes ago will return and impact the story in many ways. My favorite thing about One Piece however is the outside interactions that effect the plot, for example characters that are not apart of the main cast like Ace and Blackbeard will have a battle that can determine how the world will progress. Each arc in One Piece gives you a payoff that will leave you fulfilled. Some of the most impactful moments in anime I have ever seen are in One Piece, scenes will leave you in tears and run shivers down your spine. One Piece is a series that has been planned from the very beginning and you can see this with all the foreshadowing that the author leaves in his writing, even moments that are not planned he is able to integrate them into previous plot points and have them connect with something that was mentioned in the previous chapters. As it is a great spectacular series one issue that might be jarring to readers is the length and pacing of One Piece, it is a commitment of itself, watching and reading one piece won't be easy but the storytelling in this series is like no other. One Piece will fulfill anyone need for it has many genres all mixed into one but it doesn't, effect the theme of one piece in anyway. Speaking of the theme, one piece's theme does not change from the beginning of the series to the end, and has a main character that embodies the message of the theme. There is many more great things about the story "One Piece" I do recommend anyone to give it a watch/read I will however recommend you read the manga over the anime due to pacing issues in the anime. Other than that I would give the series a 10/10 just due to the story.

100/100Why One Piece is my favorite Anime of all timeContinue on AniListOne Piece to this day is undoubtedly my favorite anime of all time. Oda does an absolutely fantastic job at delivering this cleverly thought out story, and manages to keep the readers and watchers engaged 20 years in the making and nearly 1000 episodes/chapters in. When most people think about One Piece, they just think, "Oh Luffy wants to be the Pirate King. What a basic shounen story just like the rest of them". However, the story is so much more than that. The hidden mysteries, the predictions and theories by the community, and the underlying themes of racism, government corruption, political power, and a dominating hierarchy, make the story so unique. These ideas allow the One Piece world to build on itself episode after episode and chapter after chapter. It only keeps on expanding, and remains as one of the kings of world building in the anime community. That's not even considering the connections that the main characters (The Straw Hats), have with the rest of the world and the characters within them. Every character in One Piece is important. Oda is a mastermind at bringing back characters into relevance again and again, and it never seems to fail. For example, there could be a character that is either barely mentioned, or just introduced in an arc in the beginning of the One Piece story and then is forgotten. Most writers would forget about these characters and move on, but Oda is not like that. He will bring back the character into literally the most recent ongoing arc, and successfully tie him back into the story and into relevance. The amount of times this has happened is almost endless, and it never seems to not amaze me. As for the characters themselves, that's a whole new topic. The One Piece universe has one of my most favorite set of characters out there, with all of them having their own unique motives, personalities, and backstories. Ah the backstories, the most beautiful (or horrific) part about each character in the series. Their backstories are what shape their personality and make them the way they are, whether it gives them motivation to achieve their dreams, or drives them into despair and anguish. I would go more into depth about the backstories, but that is reaching spoiler territory. Another thing that I love about One Piece is the discussion about righteousness. The feud between the marines and the pirates is pretty well known throughout the series, where the marines are the "bad guys", and the pirates are the "good guys". However, the idea of righteousness all depends on your standpoint. The marines are not bad guys, they are trying to prevent pirates from ravaging around the world causing chaos, so in their minds, they are the good guys. In the pirates minds, the marines are getting in the way of their freedom and messing with their lives, so in their minds, they are the good guys. The philosophy around righteousness becomes very interesting in the One Piece world from that perspective, and creates a ton of tension between the pirates and marines. As through Donquixote Doflamingo, “Pirates are evil? The Marines are righteous? These terms have always changed throughout the course of history! Kids who have never seen peace and kids who have never seen war have different values! Those who stand at the top determine what's wrong and what's right! This very place is neutral ground! Justice will prevail, you say? But of course it will! Whoever wins this war becomes justice!” To summarize my overall claim. One Piece goated, watch/read it, what are you doing, Jackson, Davis, Will, Jake, you are wrong, goodbye
