DESCRIPTION
"The Bandai Channel website announced that Petit Eva ~Evangelion@School~, the "first official super-deformed series" based on Neon Genesis Evangelion, will be adapted for video. The official announcement will be made in the September issue (on sale August 10) of Newtype magazine in Japan. The Gainax/Khara franchise spinoff spoofs the psychological science fiction drama by reimagining the characters as classmates in Tokyo-3's Nerv School, headed by Principal Gendō Ikari and Misato-sensei. The student body includes three different Rei "sisters," the EVA-01 mobile weapon reimagined as the school bully Evanchō, and the ill-fated Jet Alone robot as JA-ko, a "hidden character" in the form of a shy android girl.
Ryuusuke Hamamoto created the character designs which has inspired four-panel gag manga serializations in four different magazines: Monthly Shōnen Ace, Newtype, Dengeki Hobby Magazine, and Figure Oh. The Petit Eva project has also developed merchandising from super-deformed figurines to limited edition Doritos corn chips."

22/100You should avoid this, unless you don't mind having mindless laughs with friends.Continue on AniListThis "show" is something else. That's all I have to say for the beginning. Visuals: 8/100The "graphics" in this sad excuse for a spin off of the original look like they were made by someone who had a _very_ vague idea of what the character designs are like. Nothing is redeeming. The show ends up looking like this for most of the run, and only gets better in the last 8 episodes, and even then the improvements are minimal. Many of the movements feel robotic and very surreal. The backgrounds are usually one image reused throughout the whole episode. The face molds look like bad pottery. There is no good excuse for why the show looks like this. This started airing in 2007 so CG had already developed quite a bit. Even for a spoof show, they had to have been able to do better. Soundtrack: 9/100There isn't much to say about the soundtrack. There aren't any tracks by Shiro Sagisu, so it's just generic music. Nothing really flattering, but nothing really bad either. Some "goofy" sound effects to try to get you to laugh, but honestly nothing really works. If you came to this expecting a good OST, you should probably just stick to the TV show. Characters: 4/100~~~ There isn't really any character development. There isn't any dialogue so you kind of have to make out intentions and motivations by reading facial expressions, and the stickers that appear in the speech and thought bubbles. Asuka and Shinji do have to "train" to defeat Israfel, just like in the show. Rei's character is split up into three identical sisters, each one representing her different states. The youngest being Rei 1, the middle child being the Rei we see during most of the series, and the eldest being similar to Rei during instrumentality. Yui is also a character, despite the Unit 01 existing simultaneously. Gendo is almost attached to his desk and chair, probably a joke on the original series. Kaworu is trying to cause something to happen, but disappears one episode and never appears again. Asuka is nicer for the most part, but mainly because most of the episodes focus on Shinji.Story: 1/100 There isn't really an overarching story, but each episode has it's own plot. For instance, episode 2 has Shinji being chased by Unit 01 for stumbling into her cave(?) and the chase goes on for most of the episode. Episode 7 sees Kaworu trying to let the school be hit by a huge asteroid, only for a booger from Unit 01 to completely destroy it. (Honestly, Kaworu's face here perfectly describes what you feel when watching this.) The story mainly consists of cheap gags to try and get a laugh out of you.Overall The story is weak (but that's to be expected of a gag series), the graphics are pretty bad and nothing stands out besides how hilariously bad it is. Even if you're a diehard Eva fan, I'd really only recommend watching this if you have a bunch of friends to laugh with. ~~~
