  A truly overwhelming and passionate yuri experience.

  Introduction

  Shoujo Sect is an hentai animation that stylistically is completely different to many of the modern (as of 2021) hentai. If you seek an unique exploration of yuri-only lust driven romance I can confidently say that shoujo sect is the one for you.

  Stylist Analysis

  Even very well made hentai like this one will fall behind non-H anime in terms of overall quality, but they make up for it with their originality, independence and exploratory nature. Although I only gave Shoujo Sect a 7.3/10 in general terms, it is solidly a top level h-anime, easily a 9.0/10
  (When compared to other h-anime)

  The pace is very light and smooth, not going into 15 straight minutes of fast paced sex-scenes with little rime or reason, instead it has sporadic erotic moments separated by valleys of emotional plot driven events. The sex it self does not stumble all over it self in a hurry to create fap material, having enough self-control to show a potent exploration of the characters emotions, utilising a good variety of angles and cut speed.
  The ero-scenes lend themselves to the plot, rather than the plot bending the knee to the ero-scenes.

  Although this hentai has a protagonist central to the progression of the plot, it doesn't fall into sex-centric harem antics, and offers many different perspectives and sub-plots that keep the story interesting without it seeming disconnected.

  The soundtrack is also pure fire, lending itself well both in plot-scenes and sex scenes, maintaining a consistent emotional presence during the entirity of the anime, supporting the central emotion of the visual aspect and improving its ferocity. The scores utilised are mostly of the classical style, but they fit in, being a cut above the standard smut music.

  The character design is about average for the time period at hand. And the animation is smooth enough and not to repetitive (although there certanly are some repeated frames), feels low-tier anime quality, which for a h-anime is a compliment. The voice acting is satisfactory.

  Spoiler-Free Plot Introduction and analysis

  I will give a small summary of the central plot points presented during the start of the first episode, don't worry, my explanation will be relatively spoiler free, since you can easily glean this information during the first 5 minutes of the anime.

  The first scene is a flashback scene, showing the main character playing with a childhood friend, it is quite long with several shots, but it is not overbearing as it offers a good explanation of the feelings and motivations of the main character Shinobu Handa.

  It is revealed, in the next scene, that the flashback is a recurring dream for Shinobu, at the same time her maid is revealed, and so is their erotic relationship. As the plot progress the intensity of the main characters feelings of loss and love for her childhood friend are revealed, as well her repeated attempts to fill the void that was left in her heart my the virtual disappearance of her first love from her life.

  As said before the plot is easy-going, not going into crazy exposition dumps, instead it slowly strips itself and erotically reveals itself to us.

  It keeps developing, and characters and relationships are introduced, side stories are shown, passions are intertwined and emotions pile up; but I cannot go much in detail without spoiling too much, so I will leave it at that. See the anime if you are interested.

  Conclusion

  So yeah, it is a good late 00's yuri-only, plot driven, artful erotic experience, if you like that kind of stuff, you got it in Shoujo Sect.
