22/100One of the most boring, uneventful melodramasContinue on AniListI currently have a love/hate relationship of melodramatic stories that involve highschool students and romance. There are some that I love, like Toradora or After the Rain. The drama in those shows are very impactful and make me feel for the characters. But their are some melodramas that just don't sit well with me at all, and I'm there watching the show feeling bored and annoyed. Either the drama feels forced, goes on for too long, its silly or its like something I've seen in many other shows before. This show that I'm talking about here, with only 6 episodes, was a chore to get through. The characters are dull. They have very little personalty and are filled with every single cliche in the book. Miou Aida is the shy main female character, who doesn't talk much and has trouble expressing her feelings. She loves art, she's a talented painter but is having a hard time getting her feelings out their not only to her love interest but also with her paintings. Haruki Serizawa is the main male character who has dreams of becoming a film director. He's the character the more talkative type, a bit popular, more outgoing blah blah. He and Miou like each other, but their are instances where their feelings get in the way and its hard to be upfront with one another. Miou learns something about Harukis brother and she starts having panic attacks and feels like she can't talk to Haruki anymore, which leaves Haruki confused why she is avoiding him. When Miou was a little kid, she fell into a river and was drowning until someone jumped into the river to save her. Miou wishes she can meet the person who saved her life years ago, but later find out that this person is dead. She also later finds out that the person who saved her was Harukis brother who died I guess a few days after he saved her. He died of a cold....A COLD. A grown man dying of a cold ok then. Anyways, Miou feels like its all fer fault that he died and she is scared that Haruki would hate her or whatever so she avoids him. This whole thing just seems forced, unrealistic, and silly. The likelihood of these things happening is like slim to none. Having a crush, who's brother years ago saved your life at one point, and then dying from a cold(a grown ass man) a few days after saving you In the spoiler above, I explained some key parts of the story and thought how unrealistic and silly the whole situation the characters were in. There are stages to these melodrama shows. Stage 1 - Main female or male character notices someone attractive and he/she tries to get to know them. Stage 2 - They become friends, talk about stuff, hang out with others, do fun things together Stage 3 - One of them learns something about their love interest that he/she doesn't like. Or finds out that another person has a crush on their love interest, so they just try to avoid them completely like their is absolutely no way they can talk about it or fix the issue. Stage 4 - They fix the issue after some side characters talks to one of them about it, they express their feelings after wasting so much time moping and doing nothing for some episodes and boom happily ever after. In conclusion. It's a rinse and repeat with these generic highschool romance shows. I always feel like I'm watching the same show, even if the drama, whatever the characters are arguing about maybe different, the way everything goes down and how everything finishes is all the same. They feel uninspired, you can predict what will happen, and you end up not surprised by everything that went done once the credits roll. It's just so generic. Idk how many more of these shows with the exact style they're gonna keep making. Hopefully someday, it'll end. Pros: - Only 6 episodes Meh: - Art/Animation is just ok, same with OST and OP Cons: - Characters are dull, cringe, and have copy/paste personalities of characters from other stories - Story is uneventful, lazy, and silly

5/100aw man that really suckedContinue on AniListAwful, terrible character development, decent writing for a shit story, suffers from annoying to watch characters. [SPOILERS] entire story is centered around the two main characters who obviously like each, love at first sight so to speak, but since there is only 6 episodes the romance feels too rushed and when the conflict starts which is like 2 episodes in and lasts until the last episode, they turn into annoying idiots who have problems which aren't even the big to begin with but they just whine about it for 4 of the 6 episodes. The 2 main characters share a romantic moment in episode 2 at a fireworks display which is cute and was good and all but then the next episode [SPOILER btw] the female finds out that the person who saved her life was the males big brother and he died "because of it" which btw she is told after she finds out that he was sick with an illness beforehand so it wasn't really her fault. Taking that into consideration you would think, "Ok it's literally not her fault everything should be good," :| My guy she spends the next 4 episodes blaming herself for it and even starts avoiding the main character, he gets mad obviously and start throwing a hissy fit, which if you've seen Black Clover remember Asta? Yeah, that bad. It's all just very annoying to watch and I haven't even mentioned the filming "career" that the male character has, he's really good at it apparently and has even won awards even though we never she full films we see snippets and I just have to say they are all shit not even worth participation but I digress. During the Conflict the male main character and his companions are trying to finish a senior final film for his club but they are thwarted by the female main character, who did I mention does art? because she is avoiding the male character, and they need to choose an art piece between her and her two friends. The male main character for some reason goes on a rampage because of the female and starts to fuck his work up and skips school like why is he down so bad that he starts just being an asshole for no reason it's so silly to watch you sit there and wonder how the fuck this happened like was the pussy that good my man? During this whole conflict the male character gets accepted by an American school after winning a competition somehow to study overseas, he, being the bright young dumbass he is, starts skipping school and contemplates whether the film career was his or his late brothers dream, does it matter? No. it's get resolved like 10 minutes later because the female finally after all this fucking time shows her art piece that she drew and the whole fit he had doesn't matter. I sound like I'm all over the place but no this is literally all that happens that is worth taking note of. The whole conflict is resolved when the two main characters watch a "film" shot by the male character's brother and by god does it not matter, we find out that after the whole almost drowning incident that the female had, he's still alive and looks healthy but he's in a hospital bed so he's sick obviously, let me take the time to ask a question real quick what fucking disease are all the anime characters dying of? Like they're fine one minute and the next they just fucking collapse on the pavement and die It's such an obvious and terrible plot contrivance used to progress the story in a shitty way. Anyway back on topic, during the film the main character's brother points the camera at little main character and he says WORD FOR WORD, "My dream is to become a film director" :| Problem fucking solved. The story skips to the graduation ceremony where all the characters are happy and hanging out, it's a grand ole time. At the end of the ceremony the two main characters walk home together one last time and instead of confessing to each other they fuck off their separate ways and the dude goes to America. While I wouldn't have a problem with an ending like that especially since the main story was shit, it's not the fucking ending. IT SKIPS NINE YEARS where we find the female character is an adored teacher at the high school they went to and the main male character is successful(ly) still an amateur film maker, after nine years and schooling btw, and has not contacted the female ONCE in nine years. He must not have been fucking hoes in L.A. because he comes back after some exposition on everybody's lives after nine years to confess his love and there is a kissing scene......that they don't even show. The feeling I got from this show is disappointment. Thank you for not reading this all.

50/100Love which could have ended in regretContinue on AniListOur love has always been 10 centimeters apart
After seeing lot of romcom animes, i must say this one probably has one of the most simple storyline/plot. Since it has only 6 episodes....it doesnt have much depth and the anime keeps everything straightforward... which is something i think you can either dislike or appreciate. If you are looking for a indepth romcom like Oregairu or Kono Oto Tomare.... you will be filled with dissapointment, but if you are looking for something without much depth and thought this is something for you. The anime pretty fastly shows you the main characters Haruki and Miou and even faster the supporting ones. I want to say by this that they first introduce characters, then they move to few events like firework festival where they build and grow relationship and characters little bit, create few events colliding at the same time which basically creates the "crisis" in the anime which creates a space for conclusion.
Haruki Serizawa
Haruki Serizawa is the main male character of this romcom anime, he is a member and director in the schools movie research club, in the anime you can see that he is incredibly dedicated and focused on his dream of becoming a film director. Not only that, he actually would go all in and do everything he could in anything he took part in working or contributing. He is extremely outgoing and has no problem talking with anyone, there is one exception tho, and if you watched the anime i think you might know who that might be, i am talking about his love interest Miou Aida, the main female character. Because he doesnt have the courage to confess, the anime focuses on the development of this.. dont expect it to go into a big details tho. The one thing which suprised me here is how deeply(taking to consideration how fast forward and simple this anime is)they were willing to show Harukis dillema between continuing in his film director dream or dropping it.
Miou Aida
Miou Aida is the main female character of this romcom anime. She is really interested in art and illustration, you could see this in anime by her being a member of art club or she would also draw in her sketchbook. Comparing her personality to Haruki, she isnt outgoing, rather the opposite, wherever she goes she doesnt try to catch attention for herself, she preffers to stay in the background with few of her close friends. Miou is also in comparisson with other a lot more self-criticizing... over and over saying something like i cant do this and i cant do that because its me. She recognizes she isnt straight forward with Haruki, she isnt happy about that... but like him, she just cant find the courage to tell him. Once she becomes adult tho she looks at all of this as a nostalgy.
Takeaway
This was another fun thing to think about.. the one thing i think i would take from this anime is that, if you have something you want to do or say go for it despite being scared, otherwise be prepared that you might regret it later as then it might be too late for whatever that thing is. Luckily in this anime this isnt the case as they reunite after 7 years in a (i would say) very weird and rushed way.Gonna put this here once more. I watched this anime only because i finished more in depth and interesting anime... and i like to put between those animes something carefree and less deep.
Have a great day everyone and do what makes you happy <3
